Ahri E>Q>move dropping Q

E>Q>move and E>Q>W will drop q if cast fast enough. I have over 150 games on Ahri, and I've never encountered this until today after 7.3 went live. Has this always been the case, or did something undocumented happen with this patch?

EDIT: So I wrote off the ping discussion initially, but then it got me thinking. I felt like before that E>Q>? could never drop Q. I guess that might imply that I thought you could cancel any E animation with Q. Since E>Flash is a thing I decided to try the following with macros.

E>Q>W: Drops Q E>Q>R: Drops Q

E>Flash>Q>W: Drops Q ?????

So flash doesn't even cancel E animation? In all my time playing Ahri, I haven't noticed this happening once, but it was quite noticeable at least 5 times in 1 game today. It's possible it was a different patch but I can almost guarantee this wasn't a problem previously. Plz halp.

Ahri is a tricky floof girl.

It could be possible that she has some bug that didnt let her do that combo fluently.

I might even try that out to see if its a bug or not.

You might have been on slightly higher ping. It just means you are overriding the Q input buffering with a move or W command before you actually get to casting Q.

No ping differences. Tested in custom as well.

Odd. it is dropping the Orb of Deception for me too. I have to input the commands a tad bit slower to get the full combo in.

Yeah feels terrible to do that though. I mentioned in all chat, and the enemy mid even said he had noticed but just didn't realize what was happening.
