Well I'm unranked but here is my advice anyways:
Rec. Spells: Flash/TP
Why: Flash is a must for most champions. TP provides great ganking capabilities if you do not waste it on returning to your own lane.
Common Practice:
- If using a champ that has skillshots, and you are set to QuickCast without indicators, it's best to hover over each skill icon between the timestamp of 0:30-1:45 in a game, to give yourself a quick reminder/refresher of each skills range.
- When purchasing an item with an active, it's great to repeat outloud "I have [Item name] I have [Item name] over and over until you reach lane (Sounds silly, but it helps you remember to use it when you need it).
- Use smart pings (Duh!).
- If in some result, you end up feeding/ your opponent is fed, call to your team saying you have a dead lane. Do not let your jungler gank unless if you know it's a 90% chance of a successful trade. However, if your support ganks chances are it'll end in a higher possibility of a great trade.
- Be weary of the mini map. You should be glancing at it for 4/10 seconds that come to pass.
- Personal opinion: Best place to place wards, pink behind red buff/ behind blue buff (Depending which side you are on) in your jungle's bush, and a regular trinket at the closest enemy jungle-to-river corner. This allows you to have a better heads up when getting ganked.
The plan to make a plan:
- While in loading screen, use that time to study each champion and thier spells. Think to yourself on what lane can I roam to and at what level would be best to do so.
Chase the chaser:
- If you see your opponent roaming to another lane, chase him/her down. Do not let another lane suffer.
Keep your team in check:
(Usually the supports job, but all lanes should do it).
- Always have your eyes on the prize, gold. Watch your team, if they have a bounty, tell them to be careful and not roam in uncharted territory.
- Every few seconds that have come to pass, check each teammates current health and see if they have usable summoner spells and ults.
A smile a day, keeps the tilt at bay:
No matter how mad you may get, always smile when it's over and say good game. If you do not do so, you are allowing a tilt to creep in the future.
***These are all pretty basic things, and you may know them already, however knowing and using them are completely different. It helps to have a refresher C: ***
