My main champions across all my accounts are: Vladimir Viktor Zed

I disagree that Zed is a no skill champion. In fact, I think he takes way more skill to play than mages.

It took me five times as much practice to be even just a decent Zed.

There's a massive learning curve. First you have to get to the point where you consistently get a very high KDA, then you need to be able to play the game Zed Style (splitting and picking without throwing). Using your lead as Zed to close out games is very different from playing as a mage.

With Viktor and Vladimir, at 2+ items you can basically AOE blast their whole team with near absolute reliability and hard carry. They aren't even the easiest mages to play, if you pick up Ziggs or Xerath you can adopt an even safer play style and more consistently safe playstyle.

There's actually a lot of calculation that goes into playing Zed effectively. Its far easier to mess up a team fight with a Zed than with a mage. Zed also gets out-scaled SUPER hard.

If my life depended on it, I definitely wouldn't pick Zed for a trial by combat. I'd definitely stick to a mage. But its fun to spam Zed in normals for a good challenge.

Exaggerating much?

Also I don't think it's fair for you or for any Zed main on that matter to say if he is a hard skill champ or not since it might come as a biased point of view. No offense btw.

But the problem with Zed is that if you are good on him, you get over-rewarded for that to the point where Zed is impossible to duel due to such high damage scallings on his R if you don't counter it.

But I can see why Artillery Mages such as Xerath might be hard to play against. Xerath is just great in general, he's safe to pick unless the enemy team has a lot of assassin's.

Biased or not, it's helluva more valid than, say, a Lulu main saying Zed takes no skill. Or in this case, OP's opinion.

Zed is designed to be a champion that stomps in the hands of good players. Like Azir, Yasuo Ryze, Viktor, Kalista, etc. And there should be no reason that someone doesn't counter a Zed R. It's easy. Exhaust, Flash, Redemption, Locket, Barrier, Lulu R, playing a tank, Janna R, etc. all work.

People say that it's best to take barrier against Zed but isn't Exhaust a better option? I don't see the shield being that useful when it only consumes one of Zed's abilities damage.

Exhaust is better, Barrier isn't all that good. The only ones I can think of who can work well with Barrier are Annie, Lux, and maybe Syndra and Ziggs. But even then, I'm sure they'd all fare much better with Exhaust.

I was playing Lux with Barrier and still got obliterated even when I had Zhonias built as my first item. Exhaust may be the better option, but it doesn't mean that Zed players don't have a good way of playing around anything that you try to use for your defense.

Mhm. Some Zeds get wrecked by Exhaust or Barrier. Other Zeds wreck players who have either spell. It all comes down to how good the Zed actually is. I remember being absolutely fucked on by Vladimir and Fizz. But after a while of learning how to bait out their W and E respectively, I've been able to play around them much more easily. I still get outplayed at times, but I don't get cucked by their untargetabilities very much anymore. It's essentially the same concept when fighting Zed himself. Bait out his W, and he's powerless for the next 22~ seconds.

Thing that annoys me most is that he is able to jump back to his R shadow after he's done tower diving you, or that his R is point to click in general. You were not wrong about many things that you said even if it was in a somewhat toxic format, which I can understand since Zed is frustrating to play against.

if he couldn't R back to his shadow then there would be no reason to pick him

its already way easier to just stand back and play artillery with a mage, I'm glad they are nerfing Archangels now but last patch it was absolutely ridiculous. I could pick a Ziggs/Xerath and just Q the minion for 80% of the game and wait for 2-3 items and then stomp from a safe distance. Literally infinite mana.

Yes, because everyone that disagrees with you has to be a Zed one trick, look I'm perfectly fine with Zed being able to jump back to his R shadow and I'm adc main.

I never said that, neither did I call everyone a Zed one trick.
