Ranked Series Games

Sooo... I believe in the lower elo you are given one free game in your series to help you get through it. So I've had two series now where it said I was given on game and that I only needed to win one more game to get promoted.

Well its happened twice now where I never actually got that game instead I just had to do it the traditional way. I won my two games in row and got promoted. So what I want to know is am I the only one experiencing this and is this a bug?
