Rank decay after rank season?

I've managed to crawl my way up to plat V and I've made a nest there and though the climb was over... Apparently I was wrong. I've been receiving notices about getting decayed in my rank.

Just wanting to know if I don't play will I fall back to gold even though the ranks seasons are over?
