Riot players
so if someone has riot in their player tag and their in your match does that mean that they are definitely a riot employee?

If it's spelled properly without any funny business or trickery, and it's part of their actual name, yes. Only actual Rioters may have Riot in their name.
Yeah Riot <whatever> is a rioter, but rl0t <whatever> is almost certainly not. If it's someone randomly messaging that's a pretty big red flag that it's sketchy, but rioters do in fact play the game so you'll bump into them sometimes.
Not all rioters have riot in their name, but all players that have riot in their name are rioters.
