11/11/2015 Kog'maw Changes - Feedback

As someone who has played Kog'Maw in hundreds of games, I'm disappointed by the Kog'Maw changes in the latest patch. He has probably been my favorite guy to play. Now, he is essentially a pointless champion. His whole strength and uniqueness was the long distance poke unimpeded by obstacles. Now, it's as if he doesn't have an ultimate ability. Even with enemy champions fleeing at 3% HP, I can't kill them with my ultimate when almost full-build on items. For poking early during teamfights, based on the scaling ultimate damage, it does 1-2% of an enemy's HP. It's not even worth the time or mana to use. Kog is only useful now at close range with his W ability, which doesn't even feel that strong even at end-game levels, and Kog is at his most vulnerable when right in the front or mid-range of a fight.

Kog'Maw is always going to be the focus target of choice during a fight, and his gameplay style was to stay way back and poke instead of dying over and over. Now, that strategy has been removed and all Kog has become is a gold snack for the enemy team. Sure, if you're lucky enough to have multiple tanks peeling for you, you might have an average player effectiveness in the game. But he is now probably the weakest ADC in the game, and the joy of AP Kog has been reduced literally by 75% - the new damage reduction of his ult during most circumstances. Kog was never a very popular champion, or seen as particularly powerful. I'm not sure why you decided to nerf him so dramatically.

I can see AP Kog still being viable, since his Q and E are still useful, and his W could be interesting with AP on-hit items, but it was his ultimate that was simply the most fun aspect of his play style. Replacing it with an attack speed gimmick doesn't excite me. Maybe his ultimate will be still be a little useful in AP play. If nothing else, I'll be saving mana since I won't have a reason to use it in half the situations I'd used it before.

Thanks for your consideration. Note that I've played over 4000 games of LoL and I think this is my first post on your forums.

i liked the old kog more his w feels so damn weak before min 40 dunno what they smoked his early game is now worse than twitchs's and his late game is shit now he can only do decent damage if he stands still before these changes he could deal great damage without standing still wow for what? counterplay? useless champ in my eyes unless super mega giga fed what is highly unlikely with this trashy early/midgame

Nope...AP Kog doesn't really seem viable either. I'm probably going to stop playing LoL soon. Too many stupid changes in this patch. All my favorite champs are trash now. All the annoying melee hypercarries are even stronger. Doesn't even feel like the same game anymore.

The biggest hit to AP Koggy is the increased duration on his Ult stacks.

It's ten seconds now.

Given that it can't really be used as a powerful poking tool anymore, I honestly can't figure out why it even has a ramping mana cost. Just put its mana cost at a flat 60 and call it good.
