Change LP loss rate pls

The only thing about League that frustrates me is the LP gaining/losing system. Why do losses subtract so much? I can go on a 4 win streak gain 40-50 LP total from those 4 games and then lose 1 and it'll all be unraveled and ill be back to 14-24 LP. I gain around 14 LP every win and then lose 26 LP every loss, which i don't think makes much sense. You could win 8 games then lose 3 and you'll be back to pretty much where you started that day. Is there a legit reason for this or am i frustrated about an actual problem? Let me know what you guys think.
