Does Azir's turret prevent enemy from attacking an exposed nexus?

To be clear, I am talking about Azir's nexus, NOT the enemies.

Since the nexus cannot be attacked while it has at least one of it's turrets I am curious if Azir can make his nexus immune by placing his passive (Sun Disk) onto the nexus turret ruins.

I'd imagine not as that'd be quite bullshit. I figure they just function similarly too turrets, but don't count as turrets, so no blocking things like that.

Interestingly, I'm curious if Jinx gets excited about killing turrets again.

Azir's passive doesn't work on inhibitor or nexus turrets.
