Is Urgod viable?

I was wondering if urgot is viable top lane or at all really? I've never heard really anything good about him but I want a champ I can rely on in case my prefs get banned or picked, someone like urgot who is always overlooked.

I mean his poke is really fucking strong. He's viable top lane and as an ADC. I use Urgot as my backup ADC if I don't get koggy because nobody picks him lol.

Urgot is actually a solid top/midlaner with those many small buffs that have been given to him over time. Those small buffs add up to a decent champion. The problem is, he has a small playerbase, and you will have to figure out his playstyle yourself, without relying on other people's guides and whatnot.

His ultimate is just so good. If your jgler comes to gank, it's a guaranteed kill. Very good laning phase, meh late game, because his scalings are pretty meh. But that's why you build a muramana. And you will always be relevant at every stage of the game with your ultimate/damage reduction.
