So, why ARE some buffs/debuffs off to the side?

I'm sure Riot didn't just say "fuck it, why not" when deciding such a big thing, and i'm sure that they didn't just draw which buffs would be moved out of a hat. It annoys me slightly having to look around, but I suppose that the arguement could be made that it adds a sliver of skill into the game, needing to look off to a corner and to the center in the middle of a teamfight, just as having to click the dragon/baron took up your attention to find it's hp for last hit smites did. But, then why did they change the dragon/baron hp bars, and then make the opposite decision on something that they hadn't even considered until now. So, what caused this change? And what buffs/debuffs are off to the left? I noticed that a few of the buffs/debuffs were moved back to the center a patch or two ago, but I can't remember which were (Or be bothered to find out.) Rito pls?

Their given reason was actually the opposite. Some buffs being moved to the side was intended to HELP with visibility and clarity of information. The idea was to reserve the center space for buffs/effects that were important for on-the-spot decision making, instead of having a huge cluster of buffs and debuffs where half of them might not really influence your choices at all.

Reception has looked pretty negative, though, so their theory probably doesn't work. Part of it could just be difficulty adjusting on the player side, but it could also just be an ill founded attempt to begin with.
