How is Rengar Savagery damage calculated?

So, I just got destroyed by a Rengar doing 800+ dmg with his Q (Savagery - that was from the death details screen so probably a sum of both Qs) and after the game I looked up his ability details and compared it with the damage details in the game replay and I can't figure out why his ability is doing so much damage.

For example, currently the game is paused. Rengar has his 5 trophies and 327 AD. If I calculate the theoritical damage based on the ability's description, at max rank Q (Savagery) is supposed to do 150+20% AD = 215 dmg not empowered and 190+40% AD (about 130) = 320 dmg (he's level 13) if empowered, if he hits both Qs he should be doing around 535 total dmg.

But in the game the ability icon says 150+392 (not empowered) and 190+457 (empowered). That's far from 20% and 40% respectively, that's well over a bonus of +100% AD for both empowered or not empowered Qs! Empowered instead of a bonus of 130 dmg he's doing 457, that's 3.5x more!!!

So 2 attacks, the unempowered + empowered, do 800+ dmg per the game currently. I mean come on! So since the bonetooth stuff is already included in the bonus AD of 327, what am I missing here? Every other champ in the game that I verified had proper factors of dmg calculated, only Rengar had well over what he was supposed to do.

Thanks!

Duskblade maybe? Or it could be a bug since his empowered q did double damage or something

Polaris,

Thanks for the comment.

Maybe my message was a bit confusing. In game when I was actually playing, the death recap screen did show 800+ dmg from Savagery. That's probably his 2 Qs doing whatever damage plus Lethality and other armor pen minus my armor and all that stuff. That makes sense.

But when I replay the game and pause it, mouse over the ability, the damage should be the same as the ability's description. At max rank that's 150 base damage, the icon showed that, plus 20% of current AD, that's where there's a HUGE difference between the ability specs (20%) and what the game really was calculating and applying when he was attacking me. Instead of 20% * 327 which should be about 65, the mouse over shows 392 which is actually 120%, not 20% of current AD.

Could it be a bug?!?! It's weird that it comes to 120% instead of 20%....

...totally balanced but hey at least its not twitch where hes a AOE ranged version of rengar that has a rengar ult every 10 secs or on kill.

Holy crap I think I figured it out. The description says "Rengar's next basic attack gains...."

So, the Q enhances the AA, does not replace it. It does the basic damage PLUS 150 PLUS 20% AD (at max rank and not empowered). The ability icon actually shows more than just the ability's dmg, it includes the Auto Attack damage as well.

That's like HUGE damage! It's like 3rd hit AP Jax W at max rank or something. That's WAY too much in my opinion, but at least I get it now!

Thanks!!!

P.S. Rengar OP. Not sure why someone would play like a Nocturne instead, they both have similar abilities but Rengar will 100-0 almost anyone in 0.1 seconds lol

But Rengar’s not op says any Rengar main, he takes skill because it’s not like he can e and w into double q before even reaching his target. Since leaps are broken unlike dashes where you can’t cast abilities during them.

You were hit by more than one.

Also, the damage on Savagery itself is purely bonus damage. You're still getting hit for his 100% total AD per Savagery (which can, of course, be modified by crits).
