I've Never Been Any More Unhappier to Get my Secondary Role (Rant about positional ranking)

When I'm free on the weekend I would normally grind rank games - picking up** top and adc **for my main two roles. All was good, until positional ranks came in. I'm not bashing on riot, its great to try new things and I had high hopes about it. But I just can't find the motivation to climb with two ranks.

My Problem As a season 4 player, I have seen a lot of seasons of league. Even though it's only two days in season 9, it's been driving me nuts. The placement games were a nice change, and I really like the idea of being able to see your rank from game one. However it was after the 8 placement games where I had a few issues.

  1. Autofill in promos - I know some people have experienced this in past seasons, but with positional ranks it kills the mood. I was two wins into my plat 4 promos for adc, but got autofilled to support. I didn't have a rank on support yet, so I don't even know what elo I am playing in (not like it matters). Anyway, I was filled to a role that wasn't in promos, where I had to then play the game out. Sure whatever, just for one game. I couldn't have dodged because it would've affected my promos regardless to what role I was playing. Queue times will be longer without autofill, but autofill makes it we have no choice but to climb in a position I never wanted to climb with.

  2. Secondary Roles In Season 9 So after somehow losing my series (back-back-back losses), I've been tilt-proof because it's just a game - and are meant to be fun. However, what isn't fun is having to stop my climb and be put top lane (which was placed G2). It's a waste of time personally and it feels unrewarding. After a loss as adc, I want to test my luck again and see if I'll win the next one. It's a mood-killer when I see that I get placed top and know that my adc wants to climb for his adc rank.

  3. ** Splash Lp ** No. Playing secondary or autofill and gaining or losing 3lp for my other roles just doesn't do it for me. I really don't care about having multiple ranks, I just want one main rank that holds Lp like one big bank account. I'm aiming for diamond this year, but the hardest thing about this climb is getting the same position back to back. I think having getting a chance to play adc to gain or lose 20+lp, is a lot more worth it than gaining or losing 3lp (for the sake of your time).

I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything, but these are just the problems I have with position rankings. Winning and losing is normal, but not having the opportunity to climb efficiently is a pain. Tell me your experiences with this rank system, maybe there's something important I'm misunderstanding.

I never understood why my games on my secondary roles should even effect my rating on my main role all that much. Yes there are certain transferable skills but I don’t know of anyone who plays all 5 roles at exactly the same mmr.

I would be ok with the new system if I got to play my primary role 75% of the time or more. But I don't. After 16 games, 8 of them were my primary (mid) and 8 of them were my secondary (support). I was surprised to get my secondary when the queue popped before the estimated time was even up. Last season, I got my primary greater than 80% of the time. Now, being forced to play my secondary as much as my primary feels bad when I want to play mid. They changed something in the queuing algorithm and it just feels bad.
