Luden's Echo Problems

I like the addition of Luden's Echo to the league. I think it is a really fun item, but I do have certain problems with it. Mostly being, it doesn't seem to work with Gangplank's Parley. I'm sure some one else has noticed this and i'm probably not the first to bring it up, but i need to know.

Is this a game design choice or is this a bug?

I can understand why Riot would make this choice, Parley already proc on hit effects as if it is an auto attack, but its still technically a spell. Does this happen with Ezeral's Mystic Shot or other spells that proc on hits? I will need to do more testing myself, but if someone in the community already knows the answer, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

Gangplank's Q and Ezreal's Q are both spells that apply on hit effects. They do not apply spell effects, only on hits; Gangplank's Q for example is treated almost entirely as a melee autoattack.

I was going to say pretty much the exact same thing. On-hit spells are essentially just auto-attacks with additional damage on them. They're exactly opposite the way Azir's soldiers attack; the soldiers' attacks are treated as spells rather than basic attacks.

I think the general idea is that there's not supposed to be any single instance of damage capable of applying both spell effects and on-hit effects.

This. Otherwise, Lichbane+Luden's GP, or Nashor's being absolutely horrifyingly effective on Azir.

I was thinking that it would be something like that. I feel like they should make the tool tip a little more clear. It just states "next spell hit."

Same thing applies to Ezreal's Mystic Shot, and probably Yasuo's Steel Tempest too.
