I For One Don't Mind Dynamic Queue.

People always say that it is filled with toxic premades. Well Solo Queue had that problem too, just with less people in a premade. And even then, I have yet to come across a premade that was not fun as hell to play with. I hear all of these people saying that Dynamic Queue is full of premades that have made it impossible to climb. I won't lie, i get atleast 1 premade every other game, but you got that it Solo Queue aswell with people trying to boost themselves and a friend. As for the impossible to climb part, take a look at me, I have climbed from Bronze 3 to Silver 1 just this season. While that may not seem like a whole lot to most of you, keep in mind that I have been playing this game for less than a year at this point, and I am climbing just fine. I know when I say less than a year, most of you will be ready to say, "AHA! That's why you like Dynamic Queue, you never even experienced Solo Queue." And let me stop you right there, yes I did. I started back in August of 2015, and got into ranked within a month of playing the game. So I had about two months of experience with Solo Queue, and that was enough time to make my decision. I like Dynamic Queue, because I have found it more balanced in how it matches people together than Solo Queue ever did.

Thank You and Good Day!

EDIT: I am a solo player.

i used to feel that dynamic queue is ruining the game, but with the new pings as of 6.14, i can actually communicate better and climb too as a solo player

Amasa Delano2 votes

This is how I feel. The new pings are fantastic.]

I still want pings for "please ward here" and "enemy ward is here." But, you know, small steps!

I like Dynamic Queue, because I have found it more balanced in how it matches people together than Solo Queue ever did.

My main issue with Dynamic Queue is that it screws with the MMR range of players within a game. In most circumstances, a Gold V player and a Platinum I player should not be able to queue together.

In solo-queue, everyone within a match would generally be within about 2-4 divisions of one another (unless a duo-queue differed greatly in MMR).

It is significantly less balanced in how it matched players because of the allowable difference between players in a premade group. This cannot be disputed.

Amasa Delano1 votes

This is the case in Ranked currently (i.e. a Gold I and Plat V could queue together, but not a Gold V and Plat I). I haven't noticed an issue with queuing with friends in very different ranked skill levels in normals, though -- that seems to be the ideal place to play with your very skilled or very unskilled friends.

EndlessSorcerer2 votes

I believe you are misunderstanding me.

Below Diamond, players within adjacent leagues can queue together. For example, a player in any Gold division could be in a premade with a player in any Platinum division in a ranked game.

I disagree with this. I'd rather they tighten the restriction to lower the MMR range between players in a game.

During Solo Q, the majority of players were Bronze and remained Bronze until they reached a proper skill level to get Silver, it was a perfect bell curve up the ranks. Now the ranked system is so fucked up, the majority of players are Silver and Gold, and Bronze is not there.

Riot wanted all Bronzes to feel like special, give them participation medals

You're kidding right? I've looked at the player charts, more people are in Bronze than anywhere else this season... Infact, Bronze 5 has the highest player population out of every single rank. Silver 5 having the second highest.

What charts are you looking at?

I'm fairly sure most people were always at silver, silver is basically average skill level, so it's a bell curve around that.

So the distribution seems fine to me?

For example, here's some distribution from a year ago https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/2lzre9/percentile_rankings_by_division_seasons_end/

If anything more people are bronze now than there used to be.

I'm not sure about that information. Someone posted graphs for ranked for the past 4 years, all of them followed a bell curve, or close to it, season 6 however, the graph is a complete mess.

I will work to try and find that information when I get home.

You say a "bell curve", do you know why a bell curve is called that way? Because it looks like a bloody bell, its middle at silver and it decays to the sides, it's not exponential decay which is what it would be, had it started at bronze then decayed.

I will work to try and find that information when I get home.

Have fun with it, it was always a bell curve centered in silver.

Nilok1 votes

Sorry, I used the wrong term, very dehydrated.

The curve showed a high bronze, steep drop to solver, where ithe levels off while slowly decreasing, then another steep drop following plat.

Like a bell on its side, cut in two.

Found it, top graphs are from Season 5 for EUw and EUne, bottom graphs are for Season 6 for the same regions.

Pretty stark change right there, don't you think?

That's rather frustrating, because we seems to have encountered two different graphs from the same period of time, and none of them really seems to have any reason to be fake.

Could be something in riot's api that changed? I don't know, it's strange.

Nilok1 votes

The data compiled from mine come from the two EU regions, while I think yours comes from NA, so that could explain the inconsistencies between season 5.

It may be a good idea to compile the data across all the different servers and compare them against their season 5 counterparts. That should give us a clearer understanding of the impact of DQ.

played since start of season 4 I like dynamic queue I do not even use the full (3 4 5) features that often

Dr Poro3 votes

I like Dynamic Queue, because I have found it more balanced in how it matches people together than Solo Queue ever did.

It doesn't. You can't measure the skill level if one goes premade most of the time. He may perform well if he plays with person X who tells him exactly what to do, but if he then goes solo or premade with randoms, he will suck balls and be a dead weight for his team. Solo queue measures your capability to play with 4 random people. Everyone has good and bad days, but there are strictly less variables for MM than in dynamic queue.

Also, this season in my experience is the most toxic of them all. Not because premades are toxic, but because premades made solo players more toxic. "Boosted animal" "f*cking premades" every game.

Mr Fidori3 votes

And in both systems there's still the same high number of toxic solos.

BastionKross3 votes

I have yet to come across a premade that was not fun as hell to play with.

You will one day. It only takes one occurrence of being trapped in a game with a four man premade that hates your guts to sour your view of DQ. It's probably the single worst thing that could happen to you in League, toxicity-wise.

And no, mute is not the solution nor will it ever be the solution.

you only really notice the toxic premades

most likely you play with tons of premades and you notice nothing because most people behave like decent people

Poske3 votes

So you are OK with Diamond player going duo with Platinum player who is actually A GODAMN CHALLENGER SMURF? That was Duoq It wasnt perfect because OF the existence of smurfs

But Now its just cancer

You can LEGALLY BOOST MULTIPLE PEOPLE with smurf (DONE THAT)

You can LEGALLY BE BOOSTED BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE

It sounds that OP is boosterino animalerino because thats the only reason 1 would like DQ

Poske1 votes

then as a solo player you should be mad at dynamic Q

Since you ll never be Dynamic Boosting animal player You ll have 4 alllies on your team vs 5 enemies. Its more likely that The enemies ll be abusing the system

Only reason you dont mind Dynamic Q is Because you dont understand how fked up it is

Mr Fidori1 votes

I love that "boosting" means something completely different nowadays.

Dukues2 votes

Have to keep in mind your low elo (I am too so not making fun of your or anything like that). There is a large enough player base that low elo does not really see much difference between dynamic queue & solo queue.

As far as ranking up, I agree I have had no problem this season. Been my easiest season of ranked, and I play solo. But doesn't mean that is the same experience high elo players face. For them, its premade or bust for the most part which as lead to high elo players quitting, smurfing more, playing on private tournament servers, not caring about rank. This has led to ranks meaning less at high elo and trickles down to low elo as well.

Sneakyy XD2 votes

Dynamic queue is not the issue. The lack of solo queue is.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

I expected a bunch of the anti-DQ people showing up begging to differ on this thread, and who guessed it, they did.

You will also realize that 1) boosting has long been a thing, 2) trolls and feeders will always exist-- premades or not, and 3) people like to complain and often overexaggerate the truth. And that people often believe it's always the premades being the "bad guys" without realizing that solo players used to gang up and troll/bully duos simply because they are duos, like how premades "gang up and bully solo players".

Arakadia1 votes

Its much worse having several people being toxic at you then one. Solo's don't often "team up" to flame someone.

Arakadia1 votes

How is 1+1+3 V 5 premade fine? Don't you think they have an advantage?

runedara1 votes

How can people tell what's a premade?

chipndip11 votes

See, here's my issue: Yea, having premades be limited to duos (maybe trios) is fine in my book, or even a pure solo-queue even...but why worry about large premades in my games when I have to worry about solo players and their feelings more? I'm not a toxic player. I rarely go out of my way to do or say anything that could set someone off. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I got warned for my behavior outside of the occasional "stop dc'ing" warning. Yet, time and time again, I find myself on a team where someone's throwing the match because they got beef with someone else on my team, and once the situation devolves to that point, nothing I say or do makes them stop. Doesn't matter how easily we could win. Doesn't matter who's fault it really is. I lose because of someone else's beef with someone else on the team. Then I jump on the boards or I watch LoL YTers and it's all this talk about "MY COMPETITIVE INTEGRITY! MY SKILL!". Literally the stupidest shit I've seen flying since the last time I went to the zoo.

If I have premades on my team, NEVER have they intent thrown a game once. Maybe if you guys could behave yourselves, ranked wouldn't be seen as such a toxic clusterfuck where we'd need people like Lyte to tie a leash on your necks (until he quit). This community's hypocritical and childish, and there should be a voice calling that shit side of this community out.

TornadoForce1 votes

Imo DQ is not the problem. Games aren't decided by premades but by meta picks. Before riot balance their matching system they should fix the balance of the champions.

Serpents Embrace1 votes

Same. I don't see much of a difference.

I think the only part of it that's actually worse is that when you do get a toxic pre-made there are more of them. The worst case scenario is the same, just more severe.

I usually play alone or with one friend and it really hasn't impacted me all that much. =\

Lady Hammerlock1 votes

TBH i only hate it when its 4 people pre mades,if its 3 I'm fine,Remove 4 mans and keep three mans

I just hate it because in 4 mans if i do badly even in the slightest they'll gang bang report me for "intent feeding" ,in 3 mans atleast I'm paired with another solo

Blanchimont1 votes

Solo Queue has problems with toxic players as well, but Dynamic Queue makes it exponentially worse by allowing even more toxic players group together.

Aids cuz League1 votes

At least in Solo Queue, Rankings actually meant something.

At least in Solo Queue, we all played on fair ground with the disadvantage of not voice chatting with 3 team mates to coordinate around 2-3 times better(Because randoms don't watch the map for pings).

At least in Solo Queue, when we got reported, it was by 1 person and it didn't mean anything because all we said was go to h*ll jokingly, now we get banned for saying I hope you have a terrible day sir.

At least in Solo Queue, it was fun to be competitive instead of a one sided stomp-fest.

As for the matching part, it's two different types, Dynamic Queue has pre-mades as a % chance to get them, unfortunately, so many people play in pre-mades that it's starting to make Solo Queue players join up with friends when they don't want to, they/we ARE FORCED to play with people we don't want to play with, in order to gain Rank or win games, thus the % chance of getting with or against a premade rises and Riot didn't account for that stupid mechanic at all. There will be that occasionally stupid enemy pre-made who makes tons of gameplay errors. But in the end it's not fun to play in Dynamic Queue. As for solo queue, the most you could see is 2, which doesn't matter cause then you'd either have 2 duos, 1 solo, or 1 duo, 3 solo's which is pretty balanced imo and is honestly what needs to be Dynamic Queue. If you have more than 3 players in a pre-made, you should be forced to go against a team that has a pre-made of 3, same with 4 and 5, with 0 chance of encountering a match where you are against or with all randoms except your pre-made. Dynamic Queue DOES do some things right, but they are the things that don't matter. And hell most of those things are the new champion select, not Dynamic Queue.

tl;dr - DynQ sucks big nuts, but DynQ also makes minimal cracks in the nuts.
