league ranked
why is the match making for league so terrible? its absolute garbage
why is the match making for league so terrible? its absolute garbage
If it not high elo then Riot doesn't care. But since making even matches in high elo turns already long queue times into even longer queue times those games not really even either since Riot implemented auto fill.
Basically... people still play their game and they still make money so they don't worry about match making.
Matchmaking is fine. Sometimes you get teams that are bad, sometimes you get enemies that are bad, sometimes it's an even game.
I'd much rather have an even game than a team that's died once in 2 out of 3 lanes before I've finished taking my second jungle camp. Or people who keep trying to 1v1 regardless of the fact they've lost that fight 4 or more times in a row already. I get that people don't like backseat gamers, but the advice of: "stop trying to engage x top lane when they keep killing you before you do any damage." Is something I can't stand. Or teams that surrender at 20 because you're behind by 5 or 6 kills, yet possess all the dragon kills and have more towers taken. Maybe I should just play ranked and brute force my way up to gold to match my normal draft elo. Playing with people who make the same mistakes over and over is infuriating, and the cause is simply that I don't play enough ranked to actually get my elo up.
Yeah i think that only happens in bronze.
The climb to silver 1 last season was even worse than bronze though. I ended up just playing full AD assassin Nocturne for the memes, people couldn't complain because I would carry them, was so much fun. The biggest issues I've seen are people giving up (usually top lane), extremely poor decision making/repeating the same mistakes, and the complete and total lack of communication from anyone else on the team, at least in bronze people communicate. Then they announced the skin would be victorious Maokai and I just lost all interest in ranked for the rest of the season. If it was for a champion that I cared about, I probably would've put in the effort to finish it out.
Some tips and things for players:
-If it doesn't work the first time. DON'T DO IT AGAIN.
-The support in bot lane usually decides the outcome of the lane.
-Assassins and tanks are broken in low elo because no one knows proper positioning or counterplay
-If you're the jungler, buy a pink ward on your first back and use it. Vision is KEY. Even just a trinket in the jungle can tell you where their jungler is and let you act accordingly.
-If you have a Nocturne on your team: WARD WARD WARD WARD WARD!!!! If he has vision he can leap to anyone who's out on their own. The same goes for losing vision. If you have a Nocturne and you're chasing someone down, do not lose vision of them or he won't be able to ult onto them from afar.
-If you're not adapting to the flow of the game, you're not ready to play ranked. Item builds are not set in stone.
-The jungler is essentially the strategist for your team, if you have poor game sense or don't play strategy games, then the jungle may not be the best place for you. This means that if you have a good jungler, do not ignore what they're telling you to do, because then it throws off the entire plan and forces them to improvise or miss a good opportunity. Improvising is not a strategy, it's the same thing as having no clue what you're doing.
-If you tilt easily, do not play jungle, adc, or support. The mid and top laners essentially do their own thing, but the support is the play maker, the jungler calls the shots, and the adc provides the damage for the plays to succeed. These three roles require one to be able to maintain a solid mentality.
If you're under stress from real life, having a bad day, or just don't feel up to it, don't play ranked, as your chances of losing will increase significantly.
Instead of flaming or getting upset over a bad play, instead think back upon how that play went. Were you over-extended? Did you simply miss a skillshot? Did you get ganked because you still have two trinket charges? Things like this are extremely important. // NEVER. GIVE. UP. The majority of games can be won provided you manage to drag them on long enough to get your items. I understand that if it's going terribly you just want to get it over with, but not everyone feels the same way. A lot of people hit the surrender button after the vote is made due to peer pressure or just boredom. Usually at least 1 or two people on your team genuinely don't want to surrender, but unless you're in a duo there's no way to prevent the surrender if 4 people hit yes.
The longer a game goes on, the greater the chance someone will make a major mistake. Long matches are often decided by a single fight, meaning that if you're losing, but hold on long enough, chances are the other team will throw and you can steal the win.
If someone is trying to positively encourage the team to keep fighting, and you're upset and tilted, do not use the chat. Simply play the game. That person is trying to raise team spirits so that you can all work together better, and being negative does the exact opposite of that. Depending on who's reviewing it, negativity and giving up can fall under griefing, toxicity, etc. If you don't have something positive to say, keep it to yourself. Even a single negative comment can be enough to tilt your teammates. There's something to be said for that message in the loading screen about how flaming results in losing more games. It's the truth. One's mental state plays a huge part in winning matches.
