Ekko VS Yasuo, Good Assassin Top Laner

I got just 6300 ip and I'm deciding which assassin top laner I should buy.

Should I buy Yasuo or Ekko? Are there other good top lane assassin champions?

Don't play Yasuo top.

Both are great but I would say ekko. He's not as hard to learn as yasuo and for some reason gold and below tier players always stand in the middle of his ult lol

I have played both, and ekko is more fun and easier to learn. But if you are willing to put in the time and main yasuo, then he could be really powerful. Also ekko can be played in mid and jg aswell, where as yas can just go mid and top.

Yasuo is countered by any toplaner. You might think you have a chance against ADCs but if that is Quinn I have more bad news for you.

ekko is a lot better top lane since he can go tank effectively. and bruiser. or even full ap he can still somewhat use his utility to win lane. ekko imo better top and jg then mid. except in few matchups. one of the more flexible champions in the game. and yasuo is genrally destroyed by anyone that doesn't use projectiles. especially champions that excel in 1v1s mele which most top laners are meanwhile you can farm from range with ekko kite. land stuns. and disengage with ult your your E with a passive proc for movement speed.

tank ekko is a lot of fun. i do it more than ap. it got nerfed long time ekko before I even started playing this game. but its very viable with his utility of getting close and landing slows/stuns.

Yasuo sucks, go Ekko.

As someone who mains Yasuo and has successfully played him in every roll (yes even jungle and support) I'd have to say, taking your level into account....Ekko. Yasuo requires you to put in a decent amount of time to learn him. A lot of people are saying that Yasuo is counted by any top laner... which is true to a point. Yasuo has amazing outplaying potential, if you know how to play him. I can't tell you the number of times I've went top against someone who directly counted me and won because I knew my champ better and could outplay them. One wrong misstep however and you're SoL.

Ekko has always been a champion that I enjoy playing, his kit allowes him to have good outplaying potential and amazing burst as well as an ult that can act as a "get out of jail free" card, though is much better if you figure out how to use it in plays... dat dmg on it.

Hope this helped [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Don't play either of them top. They lose to basically every other top laner in the game. It's incredibly troll.

Play Yasuo, he is very good at snowballing. And despite people saying that Yasuo can't go tanky like Ekko, his passive (both) allows him to be a better bruiser. Here are a few different core items for both assassin and bruiser.

Assassin-item 3087 item 3031 Bruiser-item 3087 item 3153 item 3742 item 3156

Take grasp of the undying on bruiser. Personally I like bruiser a lot better, you have the same early game as assassin, building statikk and bork, but after that you are pretty hard to manage, being that you put out a lot of dps and can take a lot of damage.
