How to climb

I'm in silver currently as a jungle main and I really don't know how to climb out. My match history is full of losses and I'm the top or near the top of every match... but how the heck do you carry here? Do I have to switch roles to adc or mid?

In analysis I see the turning points that cause these losses are a solo player not grouping, bad calls on objectives or team fights near 25 minutes, and lanes losing beyond being gankable. That doesn't include the RQs and afks.

Is it even possible to climb out of here?

Been possible for me, partially luck, partially just carrying with anything that isn't a low damage CC tank. Champions that can get things done on their own will easily carry you out of Silver because many people just don't know how to go against them. It's always fun to see a team of 5 people be unable to figure out how to deal with a splitpushing Tryndamere.

I think most diamond+ people would say jungle is the easiest to carry at low elo since you can impact every lane and snowball the early game.

It'd hard to tell what your specific issues are just by looking at stats but a very common problem I see in low elo junglers is they don't assist their team in getting towers. You can farm great and get a ton of kills but if you don't push objectives then your gold advantage is useless. As a jungler you need to be thinking 2-3 minutes ahead of time, knowing when all your jungle camps are going to spawn, how to maximize your efficiency, and knowing how the lanes are pushing so you can not waste time trying to gank a lane with a low probability of success.

After a gank always try to push out the lane and deal some damage to the tower. You'll occassionally get some idiots who will spam ping you for "stealing" farm but don't listen to those fools. It's nearly always the right call to push out the lane because it damages the tower, denies the enemy laner a ton of gold/exp, and resets the wave to a neutral position.

As a jungler you can also track where most laners put their wards by watching their portrait on the minimap. Players will literally walk to a bush and then walk back in a straight line. It's extremely obvious if you're looking for it. This allows you to know where their vision is and more importantly where it isn't. If you can make the enemy team afraid to do anything because they don't know where you are then you've won as a jungler.

There's tons of great coaches on lol-coaching.com. I'd also be willing to help if you're willing to settle for a gold scrub.

just play meta champs and you win by default considering how stupid they are. that's it thats how you climb in season 7 i dont think you going for diamond anyway so all u gotta do is abuse the op champs per patch and you can get to gold. then you can try to learn macro and improve further macro is decision making.

Your bigegst problem is farm and kill participation. Both are quite often very low when comparing to team kills and how long the games were going.

That means you are losing time either with ineffective ganks or just randomly run around then turn and run back because by the time you get there enemy either killed oyur laner and escaped or got killed (I do that a lot if I have to jungle :D).

  • Look up FoxDropLoL's videos about how to be better at jungling. This guy will help you A LOT. He is great. Give hime even a sub if you like :) https://www.youtube.com/user/foxdropLoL

  • Stop wasting time. Whole game you should be either farming or ganking/team fighting, nothing else. Try to watch the mini map and determine where to go next. You gank (successfuly or not) then go back to base to heal/buy or go farm a camp. Maybe even two. Depends on the situation in game, your hp and need for gank or counter gank.

  • WARDING!!!!! Dude you literally put 0 wards down. Yu don't ewven bother to buy and use red wards. SAure, oyu buy like one or two, maybe use it once... then you lose objectives and get caught. Whenever you are doing dragon or baron you hsould put control ward near sto deny enemy vision and make stealing it harder. Ward defensively or offensively - depending on the game. Just use the bloody wards! If you don't see where the enemy is, you lose. You are moving around the whole map, ward it.

  • You die a lot. Keep your deaths to minimum Like 5. When I look at my deaths in game I always go with this chart: 0-5 kinda ok, 6-8 you suck l2p, 9+ feeder, team mates should have reported me. Learn how to recognize time to commit and time to run. This needs time and practice, so be patient, grasshopper.

  • Low jungle objectives control is also losing you game. Usually you tak about 0-2 dragons during the game. That is about 2-4 less than yo ushould. Sure, you can't have 3-5 dragons each game, but aim for it anyways. They are important. Around minute 10 or 12 you should get your first dragon. Or at least ward it and then deny it from the enemy. Go for dragon/baron steals. Jungle is your territory. You should know when is good time to get dragon, herald or baron. Gank bot and if you guys survive and have enough power and hp, get the dragon (care for enemy jungle/mid stealing it and moping you up). You are around top lane and enemy jungler is ganking bot? Either take rift herald, gank top/mid or go down there with mid laner because if your bot lane loses, enemy will have free dragon.

Ofc with last point "terms and conditions applies" since every situation is different and requires different approach. But use it as a rule of thumb, see what works, what doesn't, always ask why it didn't work and what could you do to make it work.

  • Watch your LOST games in replay system. Watch every death and ask yourself why you died (a.k.a. what did you fck up royaly) and how could you prevent it. Watch your enemy jungler what was he doing, to learn from him, copy their strong plays and patterns, and make them help you become better. Did they got a dragon? Why? Where were you, why wasn't you there to prevent it or take it yourself? Why weren't you counter ganking or counter jungling, compare your gameplay to your enemy and learn from your own and their mistakes.

Hope this helps ;) Draven
