Ashe and Tear

So while I was spectating my friend, I noticed that an Ashe had built Tear early. Any thoughts on this? Due to tear gaining stacks from mana usage it seemed like a /decent/ idea. Honestly, I'm no good with builds and go with whatever feels comfortable, so any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

I feel like tier would delay your early power too much, but if you wanted to, go for it, and then build something like BloodThirster or IE while you stack your tier. You should almost never upgrate a tier until you have it at least 75% of the way fully stacked. Ashe's Q will also proc the mana gain, because it expends mana, though remember the CD on your mana gain, and know when to efficiently use it.

Tear's upgrades are surprisingly good at giving ratio heavy champions a gigantic buff to their late game if you build your items around it properly. UNFORTUNATELY, it drains your mid game strength completely, being a near useless item combat wise as tear and terribly inefficient as, in this case, Manamune when you don't have much mana. Of course it depends on how proficient you are at stacking it - you may stack it to Muramana fast enough to flat out buff Ashe's mid game - but the point is until that thing is stacked, Ashe is especially weak.

Ultimately, Ashe's high base AS makes her a relatively good candidate for Tear. If you have a support (or even entire team comp) dedicated for defensive wave clear and peeling, this can buy Ashe a lot of time to build up her Tear for the Muramana to start tearing through people late game. Essentially, a "Protect the Ashe" comp.

I think it might be viable if you get an early lead and can afford to toss the cash onto tear! But if you fall behind it's gonna be really tough without combat stats!
