lp

I've always wondered why it is that i always lose 20 lp for each loss regardless of my score. If anyone could explain why an 0/9 player loses the same amount of lp compared to an 13/2 player. It seems unfair to punish my loss the same as others on my team.

Because kda doesn't actually match to performance all the time. I could go 0/4/0 but be up 50 cs and a tower on the other person, or go 15/0/15 but have 2 cs and be pushed to inhib.

KDA doesn't mean anything. If your LP gains/losses were only dependent on your score, this is all people would care about. You could go 13/2/0 in your game, but if you feel like you aren't going to win, all you would do is just stand back and not really doing anything to "preserve" your KDA so that when you eventually lost, you wouldn't lose much compared to people who were actively playing and went with scores like 4/8/9 and 0/5/11. KDA is a bad indicator for how "good" you are. Yes, it is a nice score, but if you cant actually pull out a win DESPITE you being that fed and having the potential to carry, you don't deserve the win. You deserve to lose and share the same amount of loss LP with your teammates because it is a team game.

The game should still punish/reward the same amount of LP as usual, but it should also take all of your performance (not just KDA but CS, champ damage, turret damage, dragon/baron damage, inhib damage, etc) into consideration and reward you SOME LP for doing well individually.

It's dumb that the game punishes you the same as the weakest potato on your team. You could do better than EVERYONE in the match (all 9 other people) and your weak link teammate throws late game and you lose... and you get the same exact punishment? Why?

I made a post about this already but it should be something like anywhere between 5-10 LP bonus depending on how well your individual score is.

So you are still encouraged to win because the old LP loss/gain is still there, but on top of that you get a bit more LP for doing well. Fair?

This would let people who are performing well as an individual to climb ranks faster... Which would put these people with other high performing individuals, and their teams would be better overall.

As of now it's like... you can be leagues better than your teammates but if one person on your team is a total newbie, then they are going to drag you down like a heavy anchor.

There's the old saying that if you are carrying, that means that teammates are like books in a backpack. Some books can be a lot heavier than others.

I mean you get games like this which suck and are unwinnable:

Your team: You = Great player Teammate #1 = Average Teammate #2 = Average Teammate #3 = Below Average Teammate #4 = Potato

Their team: Enemy #1 = Great player Enemy #2 = Average Enemy #3 = Average Enemy #4 = Average Enemy #5 = Below Average

Oh look, you lose because Potato doesn't listen to his team, gets caught out 50 minutes into the game. You take out a couple enemies and try to focus down their best player... while your below average teammate dies almost immediately in the team fight and your 2 average players aren't peeling for you because they are too worried about their own death... so you get killed before finishing their great player and then he mops the floor with your remaining team and they take nexus. "gg you belong in your current rank"

Uhhhh how about, no.

I keep winning games with a good score (ww 10/0/10 and 8/2/10 past two games) and solid cs and the LP is about 14 to 16. One loss and it's down 21-25. I don't get why this happens. My scores weren't even that bad. Playing as support and having your carry intentionally feed and still getting an even score by the end of the game as 4/4 only to find out my loss is worth -21LP makes no sense. If i carry a game or supp, my LP is never matched, it is always more when I lose then when I win. I understand the need to win more games then you lose, but if that's the case, even with a 55% record you will eventually be demoted. There needs to be more balancing issues here or some way of us knowing how the LP is scored.
