ZZ'rot and Targons interaction

When you kill a zz'rot portal minion dies to a support with targon stacks it consumes a charge and it gives both players the creep score for it but the minions don't give any gold. As some one who is starting to main support in ranked where ali braum are 2 of the best and zz'rot is a must have for top laners it gets to the point where you almost have to choose "do i want to kill this zz minion and lose a stack or do i want to ignore it so i cant farm the melee minions and actually get gold for me and my team mates" I'd understand if its working as intended but it just adds another layer of complicated micromanagement that isn't very easy to communicate. I feel as if zz minions should either give gold to compensate, which i understand is a huge no no because of how easy griefing would become and how hard that would be to track, or make targon's not proc. does any one else agree?
