So in about 95% of the games I've played since coming back(a year+ or so) I've noticed very helpful chat; R Ready - 4s , mana 80% , Dragon -15s, Lux HEAL, and so on... It appears not to be the player actually speaking but the game as I have muted all players to still see this text. What is doing that? and is it legal? it seems so insanely helpful that everyone should use it.... It feels d2 maphack-ish to me that's why I ask....
Masked Lunatic2 votesTo be clear: This occurs when someone ping-clicks an object - similar to pinging a champ / minion / monster to say target that. for example if a player pings their heal summoner spell it will either show "heal - ready" or "heal ready - 20s" with 20s being what cooldown it is currently at.
This can be done with items (both active and non-active), baron and dragon timers, own champion skills, opposing team summoner spells (done on the scoreboard), any player's portrait (to indicate respawn timer / is alive), your own exp bar (to show how close to levelling you are), maybe some more but i can't recall off the top of my head.
Edit: I am unsure as to if muting pings stops this text from appearing in chat (however it is ping oriented so it might) - i don't usually mute pings for my own reasons.

My team gets to see a lux Heal chat? or do I have to turn that on somehow? sorry if this sounds dumb, but a lot has changed since I've played.... I stop playing around the time boots got a lvl 3 which I see they have removed.
The Leo Cat1 votesYou need to ping it, but yes. When you ping enemy stuff, it usually starts a cool down timer at the moment you pinged it. It won't be accurate, as it is at the time you've pinged it.
You can do this by pressing G, and then clicking GUI elements.
IF you ping your mana bar, you will get something like Kindred - Mana 20% if you ping your health bar, you will get something like Kindred - Health 82% If you ping an enemy summoner spell from the tab menu, you will get something like Darius - Flash
