Champion Update and the Flawed Fencer

Well this is my first Discussion ever, so why don't start with a HOT TOPIC the "more controversial update". I have seen, played with and against old and new Fiora, many here in the boards have. After reading this kind of post I get why Rito does some stuff and what is the idea behind it and the whole planning that goes in Reworks. As many players i considered the old Ult to be too BS (only when fed). I was happy to hear it was gone, but we receive a new Ult the AOE team heal. So this Ult, as many players have said in the "Champion Update and the Flawed Fencer" post it seems "forced" because they wanted to give something that rewards the team for having a player that goes (and im sorry to write this) YOLO, the Old Fiora some times went YOLO (sorry again) but this was a rework so it had to be different, it had to go with the direction of changing Fiora to be more team based, while still be a champion that rewarded being a great solo duelist.

"Because when I think duelist, I think of a massive, AoE heal."-Deitrix (got this comment from the post).

Yeah, a heal doesn't fits.. at all, and it doesn't sounds like a duelist reward to receive health for a kill. I still love the idea of going for each vital that part does fit to the concept. But a real Team oriented reward for going all in for 1 enemy while being a duelist, at least for me it should have been more in the line of AOE Movement Speed Bonus for all the team (like Sivir's Ult or the Rift Scuttler's Speed Shrine) that way she can go after more enemies to duel and her team can get to her to really do a Team Fight, you see where im going a team oriented Ult. I can't know if the community would be more in favor of this approach...

So i wanted to do a little poll (TY for reading, sorry for long post and GLHF) (Up vote if you don't mind)

I've been quoted!

But seriously, I loathe almost everything they did to Fiora. Since this post is about her ult, I will refrain from ranting on about how crap I think her new art and VU is.

As for her ult? She's a duelist. A seeker of PERSONAL pride and glory. The ult they gave her is PERFECT... for Aatrox. He's a supernatural being who people were disappointed lost the "inspires men to furious bloodlust" thing from his lore when his kit came out. The idea of murdering someone and that inspiring his team to jump back into the fight and turn it around is EXACTLY what he's supposed to do! Fiora is supposed to mock you, stab you, embarass you and then gloat about it. The riot post about how they saw her even said they saw her as self-absorbed, haughty, proud and a glory-hound. Why does she have a support-style ability on her ult? Give her ult to Aatrox and maybe he won't be crap anymore. As for Fiora let's give her.... oh... just off the top of my head...

A teamwide (or better, PERSONAL) heal and/or buff that stacks up for each kill she gets in a short time while her ult is up. This better fits the "inspiring" thing they were going for. Fiora ults a person... calling them out. She gets bonuses to kill that person. If she does, she gets a buff and can re-use her ult to call someone ELSE out. Rinse and repeat. If she's a selfish glory-hound why not show it by having her ult help her cut a bloody swath through the enemy team herself?

Too snowbally? How about a debuff that applies to the enemy as they see her butcher more and more of their teammates. It makes killing her quickly a priority and makes her useful in teamfights.

Some sort of execute. I mean, she IS a duelist. A bit over-done... but it would fit her. Call it Coup De Grace. DONE.

Since she's so smug, how about a dash like her Q that puts her and her opponent into a suppress if it lands. During this suppress she furiously jabs at the opponent with her blade, laughing or saying something about their lack of skill. It could deal several weak hits over the duration as she toys with them and shows off, then one LARGE one the end of the suppress she delivers the... well, the Coup De Grace and runs them through. This would let her lock down a priority target... would be something you could dodge and thus have more counterplay than her old ult, and could be interrupted to spare the target of the big finishing blow at the end. (Perhaps the last stab is the execute mentioned above) It would mean she's a bit weak in teamfights, having to choose when to go in or she'd be CC'ed out of her ult. But oh wait... that's counterplay! And it would fit her! And Fiora players could bitterly call out the enemy for their dishonorable and cowardly ways of interfering in her "fair fight" or her "1v1 duel". TADA! Freakin' perfection!

So yeah... that's my idea. A dash that, if it hits, turns into a suppress of multiple small hits with a large Coup De Grace at the end that does damage based on the enemy's missing health. The haughty french laughter as she stabs the crap out of you is MANDATORY. Then we take Fiora's old ult and we toss it on Aatrox instead, since it fits him more. BAM! TWO champions fixed.

Poppy's old ult seems like a better ult than reworked Fiora's. Heck, I liked the old Fiora's ult better.

Thing is, I honestly can't think of what else it could be. The heal is weird, but nothing else would really work in my books.

i think her ult should be Blade Waltz: Fiora dashes around the battle field up to five times, each time dealing physical damage and applying on hit affects. :D

Piggybacking off Deitrix, bc part of what he described sounded a little like Vella/Warwick depending on what neck of the wood youre from.... If instead of Q, it was the Parry that engaged her opponent in a unique form of suppression- where her and the opponent can only attack and cast spells. But what if her speed steroid was replaced with a counter-attack? Like this: it acts as an instant lock-on ability (but the aim functions like Yasuo's ult) and has its cooldown refreshed every time Fiora takes dmg. It doesnt hold charges at all, or perhaps it does while she is "dueling" an opponent, but rapid casts do increased damage. It would be a fast and swift strike that does not interrupt her actions. All you would see is a flashy slashing animation, coming from Fiora's general direction, and it would have roughly a 275 unit range. The damage dealt would start off rather light, but if say, a Riven goes in to quick q combo you, you get 6 procs in a short time frame, replying with heavy damage. This forces her to duel opponents, and it gives her opportunity to play around her opponent's kit. The reflexes needed would be masterful, or else counter would be dealing sub-optimal dmg. Her Q, imo, is too fast. I would like this spell to be equally as effective at dodging (low start up and high initial speed) but also for it to make her positioning a bit more obvious. A sort of bounding motion, with slightly larger range, and a period of time where she moves slower towards the end, but still slightly above her base ms. The current Q is just too lightning strike. "Of course you're going to outduel my skillshot champ, you fight like you're on cocaine." I also really like the idea of the chain-ult. The reset makes more sense than an AoE heal. I like her ult as is, in terms of how you use it; it's even better than her passive. It would be great if 4 procs was instead the "coup de grace," allowing her to move on to her next 1v1.

A case of give and take but when Fiora was ahead before the rework it is a problem if she got you low enough she really just had to press R and bam you are dead, often 30% + health gone for just getting too close to her.

While the new ult still does a shit tone of damage it is not a case of being unable to react to it at all. Fiora has a max of .75 seconds to not be effected by damage and CC. THat is something that can be baited out or waited out unless already basically dead.

I personally like the rework better then the old kit since it seems to have less assured dominance when ahead but not as much useless when behind.

while the aoe heal is kindof weird, i found that its needed if you dont want to die too fast and be able to continue fighting after the first target went down.

the only way i could see this changed is, if her ult would get a cooldown reduction/reset for killing the target instead of the heal, so after she singled out and killed 1 guy she can move onto the next opponent and keep fighting.

this would probably receive even more hate, though honestly i dont care about that.

thing is, right now there is really no reason to touch her. balance wise shes in a good spot right now. she does what shes supposed to do. makes a good duellist, and is useful in teamfights, even though difficult to pull off the more people are involved.

right now there are champions and items that need more immediate attention.

I love her the way she is now.
