Where is Irelia at right now?

Irelia is in a weird place right now I feel. Her counters are way too strong and the champions she counters are way too weak. Take for instance, my recent games with her going top. I face against a Poppy, absolutely destroy her and go 30/0 at the end of the game. Next I go against a Darius and he absolutely wrecks me, getting my turret down before the 10 min mark, my cs suffers, and I manage to go barely positive in my K/D, and Darius became incredibly fed. Yes, I know not every game is going to be the same and they were two very different players, but I've been in the same ranked standing and there simply shouldn't be this much fluctuation going on. She seems like a well-balanced champion, but in the wrong way. I strongly believe she needs a rework to give her a similar feel to how she plays currently, but fine-tune some things about her to make her less unpredictable.

Well, I play her a lot, and I get an average of about 20 kills a game, so maybe you are just really good, and sometimes the early game doesn't go so well, which can change the course of a lane, which is maybe why you lost so hard.

The problem is her early game can determine the rest of the game, she either falls off the cliff like crazy or she dominates. But if I do everything i can to farm under tower and still get wrecked by Darius, something is going wrong.

Irelia is a bit tricky, balance wise (insert "better nerf irelia" joke here), but I think she's in a pretty good spot right now. Her early game is weak, to be sure, but if she can get to about level 7 and buy a sheen, she can put in some real work.

As for the darius example, all I can say is that weak early champions will always struggle against lane bullies, the best thing you can do is just farm what you can and avoid getting killed in a 1v1. It's always a matter of getting items as soon and as safely as possible.

whenever I play her I go stuff like 11/5, so no rework is really needed, since she hasnt been changed since like S2 I do think they need to update her somehow, but in this current case where On-Hits are extremely powerfull I would say max out her Hiten Style first, and you should be great

Any bursty champion with a stun mechanic is going to work like this. Either you kill your target before they can retaliate, or they survive your burst with enough hp to fight back and you lose the engage.
