At 50 LP After Losing Promos

I failed my promos to gold 1 and I was sad to see I was at 50 LP. Is it normal to lose -25 LP per loss from losing promos when normally I lose 17? I have played two more ranked games since then where I won one, getting +19 LP, and lost the other, getting -17 LP. So currently I'm at 52 LP and wondering if I was supposed to be at 50 LP.
