i'm writing this in response to the leaver buster queue that I just received from afking during a game. I don't think you should be given a leaver buster if you want to FF and your team refuses, for example, NORMAL GAME pre-30 NOT RANKED, so keep in mind this literally affects nobody, and games like this aren't to be taken seriously as you're still playing with new players, anyways, we start the game and immediately feed out butts off, going like 2v11 in the first 10 minutes, I ask to FF, everyone ignores me because they're bickering and being toxic towards one another, 5-6 minutes later the score is 4v23, I beg to FF again and type /ff , the window pops up and only 1 other votes with me to FF, meanwhile still arguing and trash talking each other, nobody listens to me wanting to FF, now I don't know about others but I dont have 30+ minutes to sit in a game to listen to people argue about a pre-30 normal game on whos E-PEEN is larger, my time is very limited to when I can play and im not going to sit there just repeatedly dying over and over listening to these people because they dont want to FF, that to me is ruining MY game play. I get up and start doing Laundry and Dishes and come back every so often to click my champion around so I dont leave the game, and yet I still get leaver buster, maybe this is just me whining and complaining but I dont feel like I should be forced to sit through something like that for 30+ minutes, im an adult and have children, responsibilities and other things going on, so when I try to play a game or two of league on my downtime to relax and this happens it becomes a little frustrating, especially now since I have to wait 20 minutes in a leaver queue because my team wanted to argue and be toxic towards one another in a pre-30 game instead of just ffing and going to the next game, I understand the argument of "the team may throw and you can come back" but they weren't even trying, they literally just argued and flamed eachother, and yet because I wanted to actually be productive with my time and not sit around dying and listening to this, i've been punished. to me that just doesn't seem fair, however I am open to others opinions and ideas on the matter. am I over reacting? thanks. Sorry for the blocky writing im not a good writer by any means.

No. Definitely not.

You do not get to decide when the game ends. If your team votes no to the FF vote, you stay in that game until it's over.

The only time AFKing should be acceptable is during IRL emergencies and when 4 people are intentionally feeding with the purpose of holding you hostage.

And I mean legitimately intentionally feeding, not going 1/3 or 0/8 in lane while still trying. If all 4 players on your team are 0/20+ with full MS builds, flaming you, and voting no to the FF vote with the sole intention to keep you in the game as long as possible, that is the only time when AFKing is acceptable IMO. I've heard Riot allow it in scenarios like this as well, but I haven't been able to find a source on that so take it with a grain of salt.

So... new players don't matter?

Giving people the ability to AFK whenever they want pre-30 sets a **horrible **precedent and ruins the new player experience even further.

A little bit.

Bad games happen all the time for every game on the planet. It sucks to say this because it makes it sound like the game is uninviting, but you shouldn't be playing PvP matches in a MOBA if you want to unwind and relax. The only way you're going to get a (pretty much) guaranteed enjoyable experience is by playing with friends. If you queue up for any matchmade PvP game (and this goes for any game, not just League) chances are you're going to get a few less-than-pleasant players.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but AFKing due to negative teammates isn't acceptable. Your time is not more valuable than another person's.

at the end of the day this is a video game and i'm not going to be held hostage in a game and be forced to spend half an hour of my time because people want to be ass hats to each other... period.

basically what i've gathered from this is that people in this game, feel that you should sit there and be verbally assaulted and berated with comments and not be allowed to leave until the games over and its agreed upon that you can leave.. that's a hard fuckin yikes dude, cringe af

also by this logic, if someone was being an dickhead to you in real life, and you tried to get up and leave and they said NO YOU CANT, you're just going to sit there and take it cause it wasn't agreed upon that you could leave? this logic makes no sense dude lol.

And at the end of the day, you're going to keep getting leaverbusters and potential account suspensions.

Except... this isn't real life? It's a video game.

You have the ability to completely mute someone and remove their ability to interact with you. The logic does make sense when you apply it to the correct scenario.

Uh... before you start throwing around the usual buzzwords of "yikes", "cringe", and "period", maybe read what we're saying?

Nobody is condoning what they did. Most of us hate toxic players, nobody wants you to sit there and get berated for the duration of the entire match. I even specifically said "Sorry you had a bad experience" which would indicate that it's not what I want someone to endure. Mute them and report them.

League of Legends is a team game. If your team votes no to the surrender vote, you are not allowed to leave as per the rules you agreed to when you signed up for the game. End of discussion.

I'm also an adult with kids and responsibilities. I get one game a night to play and I want to play the game to the end with a team that also plays the game to the end.

An early ff means I'm done for the night and I get that much less play time. While I don't like toxicity in the game, I'd rather mute and play on than not play at all.

Your time is not more important than everyone else on the team. If the ff vote fails, you are expected to finish or deal with the consequences.

If you are going to do laundry and dishes during a game. I'd prefer not to see you in my games to be honest. Leaverbuster makes the chance of that happening a little less.

that's fair man, but it's not about my time being more important than others, it's about me having limited time and it being ruined by people being toxic, im all for fighting it out to the end, but this wasn't that.. it was just them arguing back and forth and standing around... I think you missed the point of the topic.
