MM is broken

Ok, before we begin, stop trolling, get your head out of your ass and listen, I AM NOT THE BEST PLAYER I AM NOT SAYING I AM BUT I AM SAYING THE PEOPLE I GET MATCHED WITH ARE NOT GOOD AS ME.

Now lets begin, MM is broken. Here is why its pretty simple, me 1000 wins, with pretty much somewhere between 2000-3000 matches total, and sure people might be instantly good at games, but this isn't an fps where the simple thing is just aim. This is a more complex matter it takes more experience. I used to think having 300 wins was a lot, but after i kept reaching 100 and 100 it was kidn of like a new birthday, you realize how foolish you were the previous 100 wins and now you realize how much more you learn. After 1000 wins You pretty much know every champ what they do what they are capable of and played almost every match up possible up to that point. Which gives you great insight.

Now sure someone with 300 wins might be really good at a few particular champion, and sure they might play well in one way or another, but bottom line is generally speaking someone anyone who is trying someone with 1000 wins will obviously be better than with 300 wins because they have experience and might know something the one who 300 doesn't

I used to play to win, and some how i remember around 500 wins i was only 10 wins away from losses, that is the point where i regret everything because after that day my losses increased to the max is 50, right now i brought it down to 30. I don't know what it is but i swear every time i try to win i lose which is strange. Its like when i try, i get put with people hwo are really good and i end up losing cause my team isn't so good

So I started checking out people, sure I know a lot of you are goign to look up my rank and go OO BONRZE 1 NOOB lets start flaming, well I went from bronze 4 to silver3 last season, currently i got restricted cause i get batshit crazy pissed cause i lose matches in rank i don't desreve too. So im locked in at bronze 1 at the moment which sucks cause i don't deserve to be there, stupid provincials screwing people over. I know i can move up farther but the problem is time, i feel like the more i get put with this player level the worse i become because I was so used to high level play due to my friends being plat and gold and i always played with them but now i feel like im degrading down to this level NOW AGAIN I am not saying im the best or anything, and no i got my asskicked at those high play levels most of the time eventually i got good enough to hold my own in lane against plats and golds while i was bronze or w/e. NOw I don't know if im gold or plat ok, Maybe im low gold cause before the season ended i was busy trying to get to S3 and I had gotten like 4 promos but kept losing cause either A. Afk B. i lose matches i don't desreve too cause team isn't good or C team isn't good. Point is as you can tell I made progress which means I might be getting close to my actual playing level.

Of course I did not start rank until i had 800 wins or so which sucked badly cause again, I was so used to high level play that when i played wtih people at my level it felt like everyone was soo well.. slow or stupid. LIke they didn't get things my friends would get. Now i understand nobody is trying to become pro or anything, it just frustrated me which in turn got me that restriction. It really is my fault though but i guess not but it felt relaly unfair cause i got thrown into bronze, and I really dont believe I should of been there you know, like i said I felt like the time i played with such high levle played put me somewhere inbetween that low level and higher up. Anyway most people at bronze and low silver are those with only 300-500 wins who start rank after getting their champs. While me i have 1000. It is true too I notice i look at the stats formlolking or nexuslol etc.

Now here is the original point, why is that me with 1000 wins, and this is true this is true this game just happened getting matched iwth those who the max wins was 372, while the enemy team had someone who had 400 wins, 2 players who had 1000 wins, and the rest uh i cant remember? Now again, it is understandable that if these people are simply naturally good at say this guy who players garen a lot and becaues our meta is a bet skewed to a select 40 champs or so, it makes sense they would do fine aganist a few champs they see in lane. But here is the main example, even though the river was clearly warded, our bot managed to feed kat quite well. Now i know its my fault for letting her go bot, but i mean it is warded, they weren't at low heatlh? but stil managed to feed? now im sure these guys could play the lane fine, but the reason why they fed is cause they havent experinced enough fed kats yet to know, HEY KAT IS COMING BACK UP LOL cause i sure have adn i know if shes coming i back up far away.

Look the point is, regardless of what my rank spot might be i feel like this game MM should be more based on experince than just how good you are you know. Sure take into account how well you play but i feel like it really needs a more sophiscated MM because there are just too many variables.

And everytime I do well, and my team is doing poorly i always look, and guess what i find? people with less than 500 wins, and me being the only 1000 wins. Again I feel like my rank placement is affecting my MM in normals if it is please remove that. Because as i said before i was progressing in rank, and if im progressing why should i be thrown down to a spot where I have to go through hell again. And it was pretty clear who was good on their team the 1000 win kat and nasus were the good ones it was obvious I could tell they knew thigns pretty well, and im pretty sure they knew that i knew what was going on too.

I was leona mid btw :P

Simple point, take into account the role of that champioin, what lane they spend time in, how much gold they get, how much cs they get, their K/D with that champion and overall, and the amoutn of games played, with all this into a ccount I believe we could get a good mm, of course fluxuate it a little so someone at a lower level plays someoen at a higher level every now and then and that way if they do win, it shows hey, this person is getting better or whatever. I just feel like the current MM is a bit wack.

cause honestly sometimes, i play the weirdest playstyle of a champ and do well. LIke that time i went tank velkoz and pwnd a sion.

But seriously, some games i feel like im playing with level 1 players.

One more thing if it seriously takes me 5 matches to win once. something is def wrong with MM, cause there are times I am playing as hard as i can and as well as i can and i still lose 3 times in a row at least before i win and i swear im cursed to always lose my first normal match of the day. no joke I don't remember a day in the past month where I have won first then lose.

Number of wins isn't everything, especially when you consider how many of those things come from normals. Now take me for example. I only got really into the game at the very end of season 3, so I have a few hundred less wins than some of my friends who have played since season 1 and 2. However there are some of those friends who it is very easy to tell I am significantly better than the game at despite the difference in number of wins. Now I don't play many normals alone so that would slow down the numbers changing, but it still stands that people who should be theoretically much more experienced than me are still not necessarily better at the game. In the end it is not the number of games you have won, but who you have actually beaten.

There are also a few other things to take into account. People in normal games typically play in a very different manner than they would in ranked, as well as the fact that solo que is very different from playing with a coordinated group of friends. Now If you feel like the people you play with are bringing you down here is what you should do. Learn which strategies work most effectively at whatever level you are in. For example I spent a fair amount of time in B1. What I found worked well was play champs who capitalize on mistakes as people make mistakes all the time at that level. I also noticed that nobody ever wanted to play support, o I played that a whole bunch to make sure that our team had a competent support.

After awhile I got stuck around S4 for a good period of time. As a top lane main I noticed that top lane gets ganked very rarely in most games so I began to play champs that are very good at playing aggressively in lane. I also began to focus more on objective control as that is still pretty weak at that level and can give a huge advantage. Initiating and peeling are both areas where people were lacking, so I made sure I could drive right into the enemy backline and ended up winning a lot more.

Recently, I have been on a very large climbing streak and have gone from S3 to G5 this season over roughly 2 months (that is only playing a couple ranked games a week however). I have not been able to play a huge amount at this current level, but so far I have noticed that I can't play quite as aggressively. I also need to watch out as more and more things are played and not every match is favorable for my mains.

TLDR: To summarize everything. The key to dealing with solo que is identifying what the biggest weaknesses of the people around you are. Assuming you actually are being placed in lower mmr games than you deserve you should be better than most of the enemy team. Fill in whatever gap needs to be filled and you will find yourself winning much more frequently. Its all about adapting.

Now don't get me wrong I "usually" don't agree with bronze QQ posts but the OP did a decent job of actually describing his frustration and the reason for it.

I however am on the "opposite" end of this spectrum.

I am a crap player. I have never played ranked and don't care to. Lets just call me mud....hell lets call me poop ranked.

Now I understand that it takes a while for the matchmaker system to get you sorted out and you will bounce from high to low and "supposedly" eventually level out to play in games where the other players are at your skill level. Your win/loss ratio should mellow out at about 50/50. But I don't see this.

Sure I have gone from completely getting roflstomped one game and then completely obliterating the next to... well just getting roflstomped.

I have played matches with silvers alot recently and even a gold or two. My question is WHY?

I am NOT even close to silver rank and I am certainly not gold ranked. Why do I keep getting matched with them and getting my butt kicked. At first I thought it might be because the teams need to balance each other out so there must be another crap player on the other team... which is why I got placed in the match...to balance things out.

But it wasn't. I have gone from being able to "hold my own" so to speak to being the shark bait upon which the enemy team feeds. This of course leads my team to berate me constantly about everything even when I tell them upfront that I am a sucky player and I know it.

I guess my point is I understand the OPs frustration with the MMR and matchmaking system if only from the opposite side of things.

My win loss ratio is quickly becoming 20/60 and its not leveling out anymore.

I am just tired of being placed in matches that I have no business being in.

For my enjoyment "and " that of my unlucky teammates PLEASE RIOT fix the matchmaking system.

i believe normal mmr is a lot more uneven than ranked mmr. I've seen high ranked players who rarely play normal and when they do, they play vs silvers or even bronze.

So they are different MMR's?

I mean that would make sense I suppose due to the fact of how long it takes to get centered. If they hardly play then it would really have no idea where to put them??

Nah... only one MMR so its using me as a handicap.

if you have 1000 wins and you are in bronze, sounds like you belong there. saying you are low gold in skill (which I am about since that's my rank) is a bit funny. you being able to hold your own with your friends in the past doesn't mean you are at that skill level, the same way I don't belong in diamond just because I was in a all diamond game and won lane and game.

I do have a smurf and while I was trying to get it too bronze 5 without feeding, and i ended up climbing. I had people who rage quit and afked, but I still kept climbing. if you are as good as you think you are, you would also climb (i was practicing champs I've never played before and i still can't play singed since i still do badly even in bronze. i also do this when really tired from a long day so I'm not even playing at 100%). my main point is, climbing out of bronze is very easy if you are gold or higher in skill. you might be low silver, but your skill level is close to those you are playing with.

I'm sure if i watched you play, it would seem fairly bad to me and many others, so instead of focusing on your teammates, you should be focusing on yourself. i will congratulate you though on climbing out of bronze 4 and into silver last season i believe you said, but this is a new season.

overall, do i believe the mmr system is prefect? no, but it works at an ok level. the ones that are the best at winning games will climb to the top.

also, good job on your last game with varus.

Matching you with equally skilled people every time isn't feasible, and isn't necessary either. You can do a quick Google search or just look in the Support FAQ pages and it'll tell you exactly why.

Ok one more thing I am amazed I don't have -100 losses cause with the losing streaks I am always o.. You would think i would have TON OF LOSSES more than wins.

What is completely dumb is this fact. Riot does not know how MMR works. You're supposed to gain and lose rating based on the skill level of your opponents. I played against the same group twice in a row tonight, first game I lost, and got -19 points. I fight the same group in the next game, win, and get only 12 points.. So, you're telling me, because riot's matchmaking system is completely unbalanced that I will never get out of bronze because it's impossible for me to actually face decent teams to raise my elo?

Riot, LCS is not what it's all abou. some of us want to actually progress, play against higher skilled players and improve, and right now, unless you have the god carry, it's impossible.

Also, their so called Justice system is NOT working as intended right now,but that's another topic.
