Question About Tier Demotion

This account is currently in Plat 5. When i got to this division, I admittedly "screwed around" a lil too much in ranked and then just stopped playing on this account super actively. I want to get it a little higher so i get a slightly better border but I don't have many opportunities to play right now and I would hate to get demoted right before the season ends... My MMR is closer to Gold 2 according to OP.GG and i was wondering if anyone actually knew if i am facing possible demotion after a couple more losses. I should be able climb from plat 5 pretty easily but with the time crunch and my busy schedule (and the way ranked has been with Dynamic Q), getting demoted could be devastating. There are a lot of theories out there and i think i've heard them all (most sound like BS). If anyone has any CERTAIN information they can pass along i would really appreciate it! Thanks.

Would also be interested to hear about this. I think most people have probably been in a similar situation.

Check your mmr again. If your mmr is reminiscent of a Gold 5 mmr, you'll demote. But Gold 2? Not quite. I know cause I faced ELO hell a month or two ago, had to fight my way back into my sorta-normal ELO, then now, I'm in ELO hell again. Next ranked game, if I lose, I'll demote 100% out of Plat 5 cause my mmr is right now of a Gold 5 mmr.

Check your mmr for every game, and see what mmr you end up in, whether it be a loss or win. You're safe for now at Gold 2, but it can easily drop super hard into G5 like mine has the luck of doing.

You can get demoted back into gold. It happen to my last season and it was on the last 2 days lol.. I have to fight for a day solid playing league to get back into plat.

This season I said I wasn't going to risk it since we too close to the end of the season though.
