Top Bruiser Ekko Viable?

Now I'm not a pro player and I don't really ranked very much but this is my version of Ekko. Sorry if its a long read but please give it a look I just felt I should give a reason for every item and my opinion =D for feedback or to be called a silly noob. Here is a link to my match history http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/NA/37314125 As you can see I haven't lost with him top lane vs many of the typical champions top but ignore those support Ekkos -_-.

So I've been playing Ekko top and its been doing really well especially against other Ekkos. My first items go in the order below: Runes: Red Magic Penetration / Yellow Health Regeneration / Blue Ability Power / Quintessence Spell Vamp x3 Masteries: 9/21/0 grabbing hardiness over resistance Summoners: summoner 4 summoner 14 or summoner 4 summoner 12 Starter: item 1027 > item 2003 x2

  1. item 1027 > item 3010 + ( item 1001 + item 1029 depending on who you are fighting)
  2. item 3027 (For bulky sustain while you are in top) 3.item 3057 OR item 3024 ( Depending on the lane whether they are physically aggressive like Riven for example. Or Sheen for added chunk damage to help harass characters with health regen options for example Cho'gath, Nasus, or Vlad.)
  3. item 3025 ( I tend to always lean towards Ice Gauntlets effects and cooldown reduction. Because after landing a good Timewinder you usually get 2 stacks, followed by a Ice gauntlets proc'd Phase Drive which does a good chunk of hp and giving you the opportunity to get out freely, due to the slow of Ice gauntlets. While escaping after the ice gauntlets Phase Drive, you'll find MANY opportunities to cast Chronobreak to re-engage the enemies activating Ice gauntlets for an increased damage boost and an extra AoE on top of your Chronobreak. The greatest part of this combo with Ice Gauntlets is having the added slow to help setup Parallel Convergence for a Chronobreak Wombo Combo leaving them stuck in place to freely Timewinder, Phase Drive all over again.
  4. item 3145 ( At this moment in the game you are basically like Akali after she Q's you and hits you with an ability so if you add Revolver to your added Spell vamp runes you end up healing a substantial amount of health from each skill burst or Ekkos three hit passive giving you even better sustain.)
  5. item 3144 or item 3211 (If the enemy team is balanced more towards Ability Power than Physical, I end up buying a Spectre's Cowl to survive those big hit AP carries such as other Ekko's or LeBlancs currently spamming the same build order middle lane. With the bulk of Health from Rod of Ages, Spectre's Cowl and your added vampiric effects you survive without worry any big hits and still dishing out a good amount of Area effect/Single target damage and regenerating HP which won't force you to immediately use Chronobreak since it may not be in position yet. Cutlass is amazing for slippery characters such as Vayne / Riven anything with high mobility top that tend to try to escape or run away after a successful Phase Drive assault.)
  6. Finish off item 3065 or item 3146 (Same as above basically) At this point in the game my team has probably won, and I've completely shut down the typical top laners and counter other Ekkos going full AP middle or Leblancs. I'm also not really sure what I'd buy for my last item since the game has always been won by that point but I was thinking item 3124 for the added damage on both spells and my auto attacking three hit passive. or a item 3026 l for setting up your Chronobreak on resurrect.

Please leave a comment or your opinions even if they are just that I'm a noob =D Plastic Rank OP.

I think that it's better to build him tanky in the jungle. Also if you go tank, better get Righteous glory for starting fights. RG>ROA. This build will fall off lategame too - you will have no AD/Ap penetration and moderate damage and tankiness

I've done it where you build all of the defensive AP items with an SV for his ult heal and a void to maintain damage. Not too shabby. You can be the one to initiate every fight while still getting out alive and you still pack the power to blow up squishies.

Only problem with any AP Bruiser build is that you will fall off hard if you get too far behind in gold.

I can definitely see it (good god dont get hextech or guinsoo's though).

Although building him tanky puts a lot more emphasis on landing your stun to be useful to your team.

I played him AD Top, he's actually really fun. His spells still deal a good deal of magic damage, so the enemy will have a difficult time building against you. Plus your E allows you to engage and applies on hit effects. item 3020 /item 3158 item 3078 item 3153 item 3074 Then whatever you want, tank items, more attack damage, ability power etc. I want to try item 3042 for bonus damage on E and mana sustain but I'm not sure how it would work
