what if stuff like that just happened 3 times a month?
The problem is that OP wants a ban for it and I dont think you quite understand how destructive it is to get a 14 day ban.
A single punishment more after that and your account is perma'd
I dont mind upping the penalty for RQs I really dont. But lets say a guy disconnected 35 times in a year... what is it now? just some internet problems? not a good PC? Bugsplats? actual Ragequits?
Is 35 times a year a burden for their team? maybe like 1-2% of their total games a year?
What would be the appropriate limit?
What do we do with people that got wrongfully banned because our spaghetti code just bug splatted them 4 times in a week?
They wouldnt give a damn to wait 5min for 5 games, but they for sure would be pissed off for a 14 day ban or even perma because of something they cant influence
There have been patches where people reported multiple bug splats in a short amount of time because of some champion bug (for example the Mordekaiser - Ornn thing)
What is easier to do? having to unban thousands of players because of that or just make the punishment not a ban?
Making a limit would be easy, something like
"when you are away in more than 10% of your games (min. sample size of 100 games) then xyz happens"
But what do you count as "away"? A guy that started the game a minute later? someone that went away for a min in the middle of the game? 5mins? 10mins?
Someone that had to go quickly so just logged off because he saw that the game is over anyway?
There is just SO much stuff to consider and so much room for errors that I dont think it would end well.
