Sore Losers?

I'd appreciate some commentary on this: playing unranked, in almost every game I've been in, as soon as we lose one tower someone on my team attempts to surrender. Usually this is at about 20 minutes, but certainly less than 30. Usually the other four players vote no, occasionally one other person votes yes. Is this an epidemic? Are other people experiencing this?

First of all, why not play out a loss for the experience? You're playing LoL, what big important thing did you have to do today? Second of all, one tower doesn't determine the winner! We can easily turn that game around! It's very frustrating.

I understand the reasoning for surrendering an almost assuredly lost game, I had one last night where people refused to surrender even though one person screwed the entire game from champion select, and it went the way of Fiora & Master Yi both being majorly fed good luck stopping that split push. Sometimes I just want to be out of a bad game to attempt to get into a fresh one that has a chance at not being a nightmare.

That all being said, you're absolutely right, the first tower down doesn't declare the winning team, now if that first tower went down because the laner got bored of farming your laner for gold and xp and is now so fed they can barely walk, that's another story.

Another problem is that in unranked games, typically teams take turns throwing the lead, or if one team is predominantly in the lead they don't know how to finish the game. That game can go on for sometimes 30 minutes longer than it should have, and could have been surrendered and looking for a new game.

Right now you're low level and you'll eventually be able to see when a game is very unlikely to turn around, but at the moment, just about everyone that you're playing with, unless they're smurfs, will just want to immediately surrender when they lose a tower.

Well, I know I will gladly surrender a lot earlier in norms than I would in ranked. Why? Because getting pubstomped for 40 minutes for a 5% chance at making a hailmary miracle comeback doesn't seem as appealing to me as Requeuing.

Honestly I've been in games where weve been going ham and then someone makes one mistake and someone talks crap about it and won't let it go. (I mean dude, were still winning). Then erupts inner team bickering/arguing. I'm ready to surrender at that point. Teammates fighting when we should be fighting the enemy just baffles me and I'm ready to move on to the next game. I rather be on a team that does bad than deal with some of the nonsense that happens in teams at times. But In regards to your specific issue... In my experience the people you speak about are the ones who constantly type "gg" when a tower or 2 gets destroyed. Or enemy stole dragon. Ect ect. They are kids, In most cases. Soon as they think it's over they will cry and whine and spam /surrender. Lol

I fucking haaaaaaaaaate people that spam surrenders and then go sulk off in the jungle or a lane somewhere when it gets denied. People do it all the time when the slightest thing goes wrong or they have a bad laning phase.

I am almost always against surrendering unless it gets outrageous, like 8 turrets to 0 or 25 kills to 3. Even then, if I have the 3 kills, probably still tryin to make shit happen lol.

Everyone gets players like this sometimes, and some people get a player like this every game because they are that player. If you play unranked, don't play blind pick, play draft or team builder. Blind pick will have most of the lesser skilled and more toxic players. Also, stay positive, assure your team that you can win. I've turned countless games around where my team has been down kills and has been saying GG since 10 minutes, I keep my team relaxed and positive and it helps everyone play better.
