Make Fizz Great Again

Dear Riot Employees and League Community,

I have hundreds of games played on my favorite champion, Fizz, throughout the past few years, and after playing him in the new pre-season patch I am very unhappy with the changes. This post is not to complain about the changes, but more so to give my opinion on them. Most of the changes are fine and make sense, except for the change to his W, Seastone Trident. In my opinion, the change makes no sense to Fizz's gameplay. Ever since Fizz was released, the whole point was to go in, apply your DoT, and get out. People who mastered Fizz were able to do this in a way that you maximize damage from the DoT, while minimizing damage taken at the same time. Now, you go in, apply the DoT, and have to wait to proc a damage spike before escaping. This makes no sense to me. When you initiate with Fizz you use your gap closer to go in and Playful/Trickster to get out. With the new changes, not only is there no way to go back in and proc the damage spike, but the DoT itself does nearly no damage making it very frustrating to play my beloved champion.

All in all, I think that the DoT should do a little more damage as it does not feel very rewarding engaging with the current changes.

Again, this post is not to complain about the changes, more so to give my feedback on them. The title is just merely satire.

Thank you.

Sincerely, Lord Doughboy

I find the W to be far better than previously. Not only for the increased damage in fights but also it makes CSing without E an extremely feasible idea.

While making him 100% oneshot dependent since it has basically no dot and no on hit damage anymore.

it helps with csing sure, but it makes it very hard to fight against your lane enemy without a gank. the DoT provided sustainable damage, where now you need to risk it all in order to do damage

I win almost every lane now with the new Fizz. Even Lissandra

he's already great. maybe too great. how about we nerf that fish?

-1 for shit reference to a man who's in the middle of filling Washington with hardliners.

Also fizz doesn't need to be a DoT champ

Not a dot champ but a useful champ would be nice lul

that DoT is part of his power budget, just remember that. If he got rid of it he could probably do more. But then that's probably also a workaround for more of his power budget problems as well

Define "power budged problems".. because imo he uses like 60% of his possible "power budged" on this patch at best..

the DoT doesn't do anything anymore, you just sit around and wait for the proc

I'm not a Fizz player, but that did seem like a rather akward way to force a "delay" on his burst.

Has the change necessitated a tankier build since you have to stay in the fight?

Yeah, I thought about that. I could see tank top Fizz coming back, which I don't know now I feel about, but yeah I see him needing to be a bit heftier in order to get a benefit from procing the DoT.
