Suggestion for Rotating Game Modes
I see the same few champions cycle through games like poro king, and I gotta say it gets stale when every game has lux zoe velkoz xerath kogmaw ezreal karthus orn maokai galio sion. Riot staff seems to think that the solution to this kind of repetetive nature is to force game modes to be all-random (like with the upcoming AR-URF - we havent' seen regular urf in years now), but then people just reroll for relatively strong comps, or get stuck on gutter-tier champions they dislike.
A solution I'd like to see implemented is an automated popularity x winrate disable system for rotating game modes. This system would parse game statistics for 2 things: most picked/banned champions, and highest win rate champions, for that specific mode only. The game starts out with no champions on the list, and after a day or so, it starts adding the most pick/banned and most successful champions in the game mode to the disabled list. As time passes, the system regularly adds more and more champions to the disabled list, while occasionally removing champions from the list in the order they were added - that way there will still be pockets of champion availability, but if they were really that popular/good, they'll be back on the disabled list in a few hours anyway. The more champions on the list, the slower it adds others to the list, and the faster it removes from the list, so it'd cap out so we don't end up only having 30 champions available. Maybe a cap of like 30 disables by around 80% through the mode's active period, to completely remove the "meta" and perhaps expose some older, unloved champions.
The end result is that gradually people are made to play champions besides the ones that are blatantly strong for that game mode, but still given opportunities over the week(end) to play the broken stuff if they are active. In the case of games like URF, the first day or two would be ridden with hecarims, zeds, and any other notorious "OP cancer" that hasn't been reworked out of said status (RIP URF Eve hatespike spam and maokai infinite healing passive), but after that the game wouldn't fall off. It is no longer a competition to reroll for better characters or lock in faster.
Probably keep the blind ban queue system tho on top of all that. I really like the declare -> ban -> reveal bans -> pick -> reveal pick -> adjust runes setup we've got going. It's just the same problem league has had for a few years now. at 139 champions, 6 bans isn't enough, and neither is 5-10 bans minus overlap.
