Why don't I see people playing Fiddlesticks?

Newly returning player after playing a lot way back, very sporadically since, and now getting back into it - Fid was beast, but no games I play have ever featured him

is it just my experience or is there a reason he doesn't seem to be getting love?

Hes just to easy to bully and counter jungle, low clear speed and super squishy are not a good combo.

He was nerfed some patches ago. I still see support Fiddle,

I'm not entirely sure on this one but I feel like he's just in a really awkward place and just doesn't fit in the meta? The meta right now is mostly marksman or tanks from what I've seen.

These days, people just prefer jax and xin with rageblade and devourer, so that might be one of the issues why fiddle isn't on much.

I can see why, but he's also still good. Last game I had with a jg Fiddle, he went something like 0/4 trying to gank. My friend and I started feeling a little bad until he started taking dragons solo like no other. He took 4 uncontested dragons. The Fiddle I had little hope for put in some mad work after not starting so hot.

When going mid he's actually one of my preferred choices. Between the silence and the fear he's just a mean mean scarecrow.

Think about the main reason people picked him in the first place. His ult. The drain is cool, the fear is nice, the silence is ok too, but at the end of the day you picked fid for his ult which just doesn't fit into the meta right now.

For one you have to stand still and channel it which basically means unless the enemy team is bad you pretty much have to get the ult off as a flank or from the side. Your hoping that the enemy team makes the mistake of grouping up or fighting while you are out of vision. A half way decent team wouldn't even take a fight if they don't have vision on fid.

Let's say you do get the ult, unless your team has some good lock down to go with it, your basically gonna just get ccd and kited. Fid is a fun champion buy it just requires way more effort to pull off compared to what you could achieve on another champion with less. If you really must have ape dmg jungle, I'd rather see you go nunu I'd rather see ap mummy.
