As a support the people that really get me angry...

Are the ones that won't take my damn lanterns, then when they die they start bitching and crying at the team. I watched a Nasus tank 2-3 people for about 10 seconds, the rest of our damage dealers watched him die, I throw a lantern straight on him thinking he would grab it just before he died, nope dead, complains how nobody did anything. Ok that I can understand but still grab the lantern. Then later me and my ADC are being chased down i get ahead of her and throw a lantern as cho ruptures her, she then still had enough health to walk about 200 units past my lantern before being killed. Then complains how she hates this whole team.

This happened about 4 times before we lost the game. And I think it was probably the FIRST time I've felt completely helpless at support even though I was landing hooks and flays. I was the only one warding 23 wards placed next was our LB with 15, and the rest fewer than 10, and then when people would get into a tough spot they wouldn't grab my lantern, and the enemy cho and nid got fed, while me and my adc was bot lane trying to tell them to stop feeding and play passive.

ADCs who think every poke or snare (I play Karma/Zyra) means "engage now! It's okay that you're at 1/2 HP and they're both at 3/4! They're snared! They can't possibly injure you!"

OH! But my all-time favorite. I painfully (as in, it was a chore) help feed Ezreal 5 kills (so he's 5/1), after kill number 5 he says "See (teammate name)! I told you Ez is awesome!" And then goes full ham mode, dying 5 times and ending game 6/7/2

I tell them my heal Sona was on cooldown. They tell me to use summoner heal summoner 7 . Why would I have summoner heal? Do I have to heal them every 2 seconds for them to stop dying?

Are the ones that won't take my damn lanterns

no way, thresh, i know that you just want to imprison my soul inside

The Paulrus3/13/2015, 4:36:45 AM6 votes

I know your pain all too well. adcs who think you're "engaging" as Leona when you're trying to use root/stun to peel for them because they have

Franco Sanchez3/13/2015, 5:19:46 AM5 votes

What I find even funnier is when you throw them a lantern, they have plenty of reaction time, and they decide to flash.

Stonington3/13/2015, 5:37:49 AM4 votes

Sometimes your lanterns suck Thresh. If you throw it directly on a champ sometimes you can't click it, especially if there's another 2-3 people fighting him at the same time.

Chromatic Eagle3/13/2015, 1:47:19 PM4 votes

In my defense, are you supposed to right or left click the lantern?

The Bard Dog3/13/2015, 7:54:51 AM3 votes

all of the things posted in this thread is why i play harass heavy champs Sona Karma Velkoz, and tell my teammates to stay the fuck away until i poke them under 50% and just farm.

it seems to work pretty well. i do get the occasional dummy that doesn't understand the concept of a poke support, but im so good with skillshots if they feed i'll just start building ap and wrecking face.

Only Play Darius3/13/2015, 11:52:35 AM3 votes

When playing Thresh, always ask your team if they know what your lantern does.

That''s how I learned what it did. Yes, before that person told me, I was that guy who would walk past a lantern and die.

Linna Excel3/13/2015, 2:00:37 PM2 votes

To be fair, most people aren't expecting the lantern if you aren't in a ranked 5. If you aren't a thresh player or an ADC who has had good threshes, you just aren't looking for it 90% of the time.

Takeuchi 173/13/2015, 1:00:04 PM2 votes

yup happens all the time. people be dumb and will always complain because they think they got something, when obviously they dont. otherwise we would not have thrown the lantern. smh

A Superb Villain3/13/2015, 3:51:41 PM2 votes

"wtf Thresh? why didn't you go in?! they were hooked"

"Haven't you heard of catch and release?"

Sometimes it just isn't worth the effort explaining to my lane partner why an all-in engage is a poor idea, particularly in unfavorable positions, like under their tower, or as the enemy jungler is casually strolling towards our lane, or my adc is still walking back to lane...

warpenguin5553/13/2015, 5:40:20 AM1 votes

it sucks when you throw one and right away the enemy blocks it

Dominnion3/13/2015, 2:36:47 PM1 votes

What happens to me sometimes is a 1v4 and I cant grab the lantern because I can't click it and can only click the champions bodyblocking it, is there a way around this?

femmé3/14/2015, 6:16:38 AM1 votes

i mean being honest, sometimes it's hard to click the lantern like when nautilus is standing on top of it while locking you down it's hard to not click his hitbox y'know what i mean?

Disig3/13/2015, 4:00:36 PM1 votes

I have to admit unless you play with a thresh or as Thresh frequently, reaction time is going to be slow. It super sucks because that lantern is amazing, but people's first reaction is RUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUN not, oh hey a lantern...

Still if they're not clicking the lantern they really need admit it's their bad and make an effort to pay attention more.

RamboDash153/13/2015, 7:29:15 PM1 votes

I make it a habit to always grab the lantern when it is up. It's fun to glide away with full health as my team mate dies, arms outstretched, trying beyond hope to reach the lantern. Only fools try to outrun death, and I am a foolish man

kureransu3/13/2015, 7:42:05 PM1 votes

I'm a support main, and I too go with harass heavy champs because like previously stated In solo most people can't tell if you're peeling or initiating. I picked up Zil after the "rework" and I love when my team mate is under heavy fire and they run AWAY from me. I even ping a pattern to me and they keep going.

PlaguedWings3/13/2015, 8:12:45 PM1 votes

The people that get me, and this goes for support as well; when you play an aggressive champ such as Leona, Graves, Zed etc etc and you're playing passively, and you die because you're not playing them correctly, you tell them to be more aggressive and they get mad at you. Like, not my fault you got your ass whooped because you don't know how to play. What gets me is passive Sorakas. Your heal can bring an adc from nothing to full health in 1 - 2 uses. Why, oh why, are you not helping him zone? And you get mad at him for feeding? You never really helped them, you dick

FancyKiwi3/13/2015, 9:13:35 PM1 votes

The worse ADCs are the only who if you land a Thresh hook and don't even take it then they use their jump to get in melee range and go "I'M ALL IN MOTHER FUCKERS!!" and then complain when the die.

Yesterday I was playing a match as Quinn (blue side) (http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1758190023/37926959?tab=overview)

They were taking Dragon and our udyr walks up to the wall

"I got this"

Our Bard punches a whole through the wall.

Udyr instead Flashes over the wall and tries to steal (unsuccessfully).

I understand he's a new champion, but really now?

Lwnt3/13/2015, 11:25:03 PM1 votes

When I am playing with lulu ready to go on a 2 vs 2 fight (I had my adc with me) and the 2 enemy is ready to engage on us. In my head I was like bring it on so I speed boost and shield my adc (giving him/her pix) and I go foward and land my Q on both and slowed them both. Next thing you know my adc is running in the opposite direction in other words running away. Leaving all my skills on cooldown except my ult (Sometime that is on cooldown). So I pretty much die at that point.

paShadoWn3/14/2015, 12:23:11 AM1 votes

And here you have the reasoning why warding is pointless. Creatures who are mindless enough to not notice the lantern cant benefit from wards.

ofart3/13/2015, 12:08:27 PM1 votes

You should throw a lantern at the escape path and not on him where it's hard to click and can be blocked.
