why do people buy botrk over hydra on zed still? hydra higher burst / aoe

The higher burst is up for debate. Blade of the Ruined King's active does add to the damage done by Death Mark as well as slowing the target for Zed to keep up and auto-attack a target more easily which allows Death Mark to deal even more damage. Also, the components that make up Blade of the Ruined King are a bit more useful than having two Rejuvenation Beads in your inventory. As for the area-of-effect from the Hydra, you'll rarely see anybody pick up Zed and build him for AOE damage in a teamfight. It'll most likely be just straight up single target damage.

hm i guess its up to preference then
