Okay Riot the joke is up now nerf colossus
Pretty sure at this point Riot is trolling us by introducing this super broken mastery because they wanted LoL players to talk about “CoC”

Too many times hecarim and zac can just gank without suffering retaliation.
couldn't they do that before this mastery?
First decent thread by you.
We can thank Riot Fearless, member of Riots balancing team and tank main who is hardstuck in Silver, for this keystone.
Oh! Thanks Fearless. I love your keystone. (I mean that honestly. I really do. Got a comment on it... below I think?)

I really dont get this tank champion sympathy the boards have. Naut, Hecarim, zac are simply off the charts with this keystone. Even the most used foking build for olaf had CoC, without having a SINGLE hard-cc in his kit.

I think a lot of Olaf's aren't changing from SoTA. Hecarim isn't a tank so I think he's fucking nuts in general. The mastery is itself too strong and will get nerfed.
Zac was already powerful without it.
What, so we can go back to 8 people on the team having Thunderlords?
Ah... no. Hopefully just not two to three having Courage of the Colossus.

But it was that way before with the extra 300hp Capstone also. Every jungler and lots of tanks took it. But that was passive stats so its fine? Shenanigans!
Did I say that? Take a look at my board history if you want. I've spoken too much on the subject already. Actually, I suppose that was a little while ago. Anyway, I love this mastery, it just needs to be a little less good on everyone and better for tanks.
Thats an issue with keystone balance as a whole, not a problem exclusive to CoC.
It'll get nerfed. There's no denying that.
I actually want them to buff it. Conditionally. I want it to be better for tanks and worse for damage carries. Right now it's amazing early. I think that's fine, given it drops off appropriately if you don't build HP. The problem is that it doesn't really drop off until a bit past mid-game if you build damage rather than tank, and because of that, hyper-carries can afford to build more offensively and simply end the game before they lose the benefit. On the other hand, it's not as useful on a tank who's already tanky. Sure, it gives them more of what they need, but proportionally it benefits bruisers more.
Not sure if it's OP though. It's more that it provides for a duality that a specific class needs more than any other: divers. And since divers can benefit so much from it, we're seeing a lot more of them. And so my favorite junglers are all being spammed and I feel less unique. :( Oh, and the squishies are being dived on more. That too. It's a good thing I play tanks 70% of the time. :D
But the point is, real tanks dont need a shield. Like another guy said it just helps bruisers towerdive with impunity. Also eliminates weaknesses for champs like Riven.
Exactly. That's why it needs changes. (But I do love the mastery--I just think it provides too much duality to a class that already skirts the line. It needs to be redrawn and repackaged to fit them a little less snugly.)
Sadly they like that someone like riven finds it appealing in some games. They don't want it to be "the only choice" but they like that it is an option. Which to me is stupid cause you dont see someone1 like malphite highly considering anything in the Ferocity tree. Even thunderlords is a pretty big stretch for a lot of tanks.
TL:DR i dislike that its okay for other classes to dip into Resolve keystones, but not the other way around.
(YES i know you can take w.e the fuck you want on any champ, but it seems like its more favorable for other classes than tanks, aka less strong options.)
Actually, Riven, and other divers, exist in a middle state wherein they could go either for damage or defense. As I said, I don't think that's a problem, and I want divers to be able to choose it, but I don't want it to enable them to build offensively. Which it currently does. There are so many good HP AD items, that many divers can get away with a rather damage heavy build and still get some great benefit out of it. Divers are supposed to exist in that duality, and while I love that, they aren't supposed to be able to build as much offense as this enables them to while still being so tanky. Both Riven and Vi are excellent examples, both have shields in their kits that stack on top of CC's and in Riven's case scale with AD. Many divers get this benefit disproportionally, which I do not think is appropriate for a defensive keystone. If they invest in full defense, it should not be just in order to invest in offense.
Oh I agree mate, I think the shield needs to be more defined. Right now its just, "want a shield when you hard cc, CoC" Instead of actually needing to build around the keystone, like most the others require in 1 way or another.
Alrighty.

You don't play tanks do you?
