Gameplay wise Riot made her harder to play and more exciting, the new obscured mechanic looks interesting but it might need some tuning. It also seems like Akali players are satisfied with the rework. Visually the rework is a masterpiece. I hope tomorrow ill get to play her on the PBE.

She'll just need someone to lock her down when she "peeps out her head." Someone like Annie used to be, or Malzahar used to be, or Lissandra used to be.... hmmmm....
On an up side Orianna ult, Swain E, Diana E etc might be able to pull her out of it. Also the interaction between "true stealth" and Diana's Q/E would be interesting as they both state they "reveal" opponents.

Of course they don't, but "someone like malz" gets countered by other champions meaning the midlane champion pool increases as counters of counters of counters become viable once again xD

The standard 3 that deal with "hypermobile hypercarries" are Malzhar, Lissandra and Annie. They are 3 mages with a point and click CC so the hypermobile bit no longer aids them, and the burst to kill them while they are CC'ed.
Sadly they have all been unable to do this due to nerfs/changes so people turned to the only other counters to him which are all from the top lane. Thus Irelia etc being mid for a time.

Even so, maybe they should leave a classical version of Akali for people that remember her appearance? She looks nothing like she used to, which is a problem in regards to keeping the champion but re-working abilities. Some are justified but Akali was very integrated and wasn't just like that 'thing' that existed
