Solo Queue Riot-to-Player Discussion Where?
I wanted to point out that in pretty much every interaction we've had with Rioters concerning the state of Solo Queue, Riot has never made a point of having a direct Rioter-to-Player discussion about the subject. Every time they've even said anything about it, it's been less of a discussion and more of a "Close your ears to negative player feedback" scenario.
I mean, if your only official interaction is a round table video, well, a video can't talk to people can it? (Not yet anyway O.o)
As understandable as it is why they DON'T want to have a boards discussion about solo queue (who would want face THAT shitstorm?), it needs to happen. Let me say that again.
It NEEDS to happen.
They've made this mess even messier by ignoring player feedback over the months, so of COURSE it's going to go bad for them. They haven't responded to any posts in the boards about solo queue for months! Even well-thought out ones. But they need to clean up the mess they've made, and they need to clean it NOW before it gets any worse, for their sake.
Now in no way is this hating on the Rioters. I loved League, and even though I no longer play except for the occasional rotating game mode with my brother (and if my friends beg me to play a round with them) nor have I bought any RP since all this crap went down this season, I still hope against hope that the game will improve again someday.
But no relationship can be built on one-way communication. Imagine if a guy told his girlfriend (or vice versa) that the partner needed to stop being a teacher and start being a doctor, because statistically doctors make more money than teachers. And because they're statistics, he/she can't be wrong... right?
If the other side isn't given a chance to express either agreement or disagreement (or to at least have it be heard) you have a failed relationship and probably a breakup.
Anyway, that's my thoughts on the matter.
