Support for a Support main

Heyo friendos. So I'm just kinda hoping that I can get some help with playing support in ranked. I'm silver V, I just got demoted and I'm about to get demoted again if I lose a couple more games. I'm a Thresh one trick but I can still play other champs like Blitz, Leona, Braum and Tahm at a pretty decent level.

1. I need help with roaming in the early game to help the rest of the team. I struggle with roaming mid and helping the jungler and I'd like to get better at this, as I feel it will really help me win some more games. I find that I often wind up with a really good score, such as my last game I was 4/2/24 which is for Silver I think a pretty good score. But even though I may be doing well, the rest of the team is falling behind and we lose the game. So I want to be able to get better at roaming so that the whole team ends up with a better score and we have a higher chance of winning.

2. Should I try switching up which character I play as? I've been playing Thresh for a majority of the time I've played league. I have very nearly 300,000 mastery points and I find that I play him really well and I really enjoy playing as him. I don't play him in every situation though, such as if our team needs a tank I'll swap to a more tanky character. But I don't know if swapping characters will really help me at all. I definitely would like to just play Thresh for however long I play League but I really just cannot consistently win games anymore. I know Thresh is a very good cc carry and I really enjoy that, but are there any other carry supports than I should maybe play for awhile to give myself a break with Thresh?

3. Should I try switching roles? So this is the last thing I would like to do. I really really love playing support and it is by far my favorite role in the game, also the role that I am best with. However I did main Ahri in the mid lane for a while before I started playing support. Do you think I should maybe go back to that and hope that I can carry as an actual carry role?
