How to practice a champion in pvp?

OK, so I recently started pvp again in the last few days after being stuck with on satellite internet for almost 3 months. Anyways, with the old teambuilder I could pick a champion I had no experience with and a lane, then que up. Now that I have to pick a role but not a champion how do I go about practicing a specific champion in pvp?

Please don't say use blind pick, because I am still on a pretty bad connection (2mbs) so I don't load in fast enough and people have already called roles or locked in.

You can't. Your best bets now are:

  • Blind pick
  • Queue with 4 friends
  • Try to pick that role in dynamic queue (normal or rank), pray you get it, and pray nobody bans your champion or picks it first on the other team

Seriously there is such a void for exactly this situation that teambuilder left, it's sad.
