This skin might as well be cheating vs colorbind
Everything he casts is red/green on the green grass.. even with colorblind mode on. I must have walked into this 8 times in one game not seeing it.

That is pretty bad, on par with the snow skins and arcanist ziggs spells on howling abyss.
I'm not even colorblind and it's hard to see
That's because you're just blind. XD

Wait fuck you're right
Every time
I remember playing Snowday Singed in the snowy Summoners Rift. My track of poison was invisible; not even I was able to see it.

Tbh Singed's normal poison trail is already super wispy and really easy to run into accidentally.
don't forget that the last of his "puffs" are invisible for a brief duration
They changed Singed's poison trail recently and it's a lot better now.
To get a sense of the problem, just switch the image to grayscale. The degree of contrast between the bottom of the cage, the "wires" and the vegetation is quite small.
So much this.
Seriously, all you graphic designers out there, this is the easiest way to see if your design is color blind friendly or not. If you can't clearly discern things in grayscale, then someone who's color-blind can't either.
Could someone upload an inverted version of what it looks like in colourblind mode?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6d29LJZG6E
Likely something long these lines
Here's roughly what it looks like to a protan like myself.
That is almost easier to distinguish than the original, unaltered version.
I mean, I can hardly see it. It might be easier for you to still see cause there might still be some red in the picture but if I had to try to work around that in game I would hate it.
(scratches head) I dunno, still looks easy to see to me. Might need to alter it some more to look closer to what it looks like to you.
does the color of the stun even matter? if you see a pillar, you know its an enemy veigar, unless you are in blind pick
Do you know how colourblindness works? The lasers on the cage are green and blend in with the green grass, and the orange/yellowish warning lines on the bottom blend in with the yellow/brown ground.

what i mean is, theres still the pillars, which appear first dont they? so why try to walk out of it?
I'm colorblind myself and actually have no issues with this skin :L (and have been using it a lot when I play veigar, or seen it quite a bit when playing against him)
If you really were colorblind, you would have known that there are several different types of it.
I'm quite aware that there are differences as not everyone is the same but again like I said, I for one am not affected by this skin, so it's kind of a laugh that this thread exists.
If someone has Achromatopsia or Total Color Blindness then they might have a real issue as they see no color.
This was really informative! Thanks for this.
I thought Riot's colorblind mode changed red/green to other colors? How did this happen?
Like most games, it only changes UI components that are red or green, and even then, only stuff that is potentially ambiguous (like the HP bars over people's heads). Most of what it used to change though is now always altered (summoner names in chat for example).
Not to mention walking into a veigar stun means certain death Not much you can really do right now except pray that the enemy isn't using this skin.
Why isn't it electrified fencing anyway??
Isn't that closer to the Omega's 'military' theme?
My issue is with Redemption. Every time it's fucking cast I can never tell which damn team is casting it. I have no idea if I should run into or away from the bloody thing.
Red- enemy. Green- friendly. But I can see how that doesn't help colorblind people.....man Riot needs to up their game with this stuff. Not cool.
I can see why this is a issue.Cause there is not a whole lot of colorblind people out there. So I understand why Riot hasn't fixed stuff like this however.
But just cause they are colorblind doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to have fun and hopefully Riot will work on this.
Actually about 1 in 10 guys are colorblind to some degree.
Aw :( I hope they fix it
I couldn't see this thing sometimes either, I have effects on low so thats probably not helping.. There are alot of skins though that make certain key abilities harder to read/react to, along with sometimes having totally new cast animations to learn
lol that moment when your about to say:
"I don't see an issue.. the box is perfectly clear.."
then 20 seconds later you're like.. "oh shit
is there too XD
as someone who is colorblind, i can say i dont actually have any problems with it mixing in with terrain, but if theres 2 veigars in the game game, its super hard to tell their stuns apart
Aren't the big grey pillars visible though?
Not color blind myself, but I don't think the warning circle animation is visible to them
I'm not colorblind but I enable it, it make everything clear with higher constrast.
In my opinion I don't think skins should EVER reduce an ability's default telegraph noticeability. EVER.
If a default champion has a telegraphed ability to begin with, it's because it's a very strong ability that needs that bit of noticeability so players have a chance to dodge it. Without these noticeable telegraphs it even makes players without colorblindness have trouble because they are used to having a certain ability highlighted in a certain way.
It's really just a slick way of introducing pay-to-win.
