the point was to make his laning phase less oppressive (getting rid of shield) while still giving him a chance to do well late game by increasing his scaling

It feels super bad to play now no Shields and no root so you just die vs anyone

To be fair, his win rate has been abysmal for a long time because Riot couldn't stop nerfing him, given that if he isn't kept in a garbage state he's instantly OP in high elo and pro play.

And of the chance they finally get to give Ryze a facelift with this last rework, they YET AGAIN choose to NOT touch his actual problems such as his team teleport R and his multi-dipping scaling in his passive. They want to keep him as a problem kid to keep nerfing, I guess.

Poor Ryze. If only Riot can just leave him alone and finally get him balanced.
