Dynamic que and how it affects supports

Hey guys, I'm a silver 5 support main (top notch, i know) I've played league since season 4 around Yasuo's release.

Ever since the release of dynamic que a lot of people have felt the lengthened wait times before games. At first i was pretty okay with this because i didn't really have to wait at all for my games since signing up for support in matchmaking almost guaranteed a sub 10 second wait. I soon realized that my secondary role, mid, being quite popular was actually only selected for me once, that being when there was a bot lane duo. I really do enjoy support, but it does get somewhat bothersome feeling like the game is out of your control. I've tried que'ing for other roles such as mid/top or mid/jungle, but it really feels restricting never being able to que support as a secondary or primary and still have the chance of receiving mid.

-is there an easy way to que any role with support and not be set support 95% of the time? -is it only me having this problem?
