With the fervor + flat armor pen changes I just feel Renekton isn't worth playing anymore at a a high level as the extent to which he has been made unviable has gone over the edge, a sentiment shared among Renekton mains in high elo, please could you give us your thoughts on the state of the champion, his place in the meta (currently unplayable at pro level due to his scaling/kit - is this intended?) and any impending or potential changes to him (buffs/nerfs/kit changes)! Love the champion and would be grateful to hear your thoughts on him, the more detail the better! Thanks

Renekton is one of the best top Laners atm, buffing him would put him over the edge. While he isn't quite the likes of Poppy, he is still A tier, and you can reach any elo with him as long as you know what you're doing. He's not weak, not even remotely. You want unviable? Play Aatrox or Mordekaiser.

Courage of the colossus any good on him? And % armor pen on black cleaver is the same fortunately.

He just needs a buff that'll make him a little more threatening when he scraps imo. Like garens armor shred and Nasus' Ult changes

If you're running offensive key-stones on Renekton, let me just tell you right now, that you should NOT be running fervor of battle on him for any reason. Fervor of battle is meant for champions who are autoattack reliant Udyr Trundle XinZhao Aatrox Warwick Darius Olaf

Renekton is a champion who relies on burst damage to kill, therefore he should be running thunderlords decree with precision since it gives flat-pen which is important for the early game, even moreso on Renekton whose strongest point is during the early game due to his nature as a lane bully. For runes I run flat AD Quints, Lethality/Armorpen marks, armor seals, and cdr glyphs to maximize my early game damage and trading power.

The fact that these "high elo" players think running fervor of battle is the way to go just goes to show you how much you shouldn't trust what "high elo" players have to say and how much better off you are doing the homework for yourself. No amount of "high elo" advice will change the fact that Renekton scales better early with flat penetration, is an early game lane bully, and does burst damage.
