Question About Ranked Qualifiers

Greetings Summoners,

I've got a quick question regarding qualifiers. Specifically, my placement in Silver IV after winning 7 out of 3 of my qualifying matches.

I ended last season as a Silver IV, but most of my ranked qualifiers were spent playing against Gold's and Plat's.

So how does placement work? To me, it seems as if a 7/3 placement score should at least deserve some increase in rank, especially given that most matches were against players one or even two leagues ahead of me.

Well. Just a theory.

For you to finish at the same rank as last season after only going 7 and 3... you lucked out.

More than likely your MMR was something like Silver 2 MMR, and those Golds/Plats had very low MMR for their respective rank... to put it simply , you played with other players of equal MMR and went 7/3... 7/3 will drop you 1 or 2 tiers. You have to go 10/10 it seems to stay in the same tier MMR or maybe move up one from last season.

I disagree I have several high diamond and master tier friends who all did well and the highest ranks they got were plats. So I think the lower elo's can hit the same mark, but all the people on the top got a harder reset.
