Can Kai'sa' abilities devolve?

So I'm curious from watching videos from the PBE, when you acquire the stat requirements to evolve one of Kai'sa' abilities, there's a little pop-up similar to Kha'zix after he levels his ult. What I'm wondering is what happens if you had say, 100 bonus AD, evolved her Q and then refunded the item. Does her Q revert back to its un-evolved form or is this a pseudo-exploit?

Edit: Also how does this work with the "Absolute Focus" rune? If she drops below 70% health what happens?

Yes they devolve.

Edit: the stat upgrades have to be permanent to count (so absolute focus wouldn't work). Currently gathering storm doesn't work either, but wingsofdeath had lethal tempo proc his e upgrade so it has some bugs still.
