Hey riot is it possible to get ap varus some love? I've tried him few times, seems fun to play but ur only capable doing something with him when only late game reached. Some ideas would be to reduce his Hp% shred and ult scalling and maybe increase his magic damage on hit or maybe add some ap ratios to his e or q to help his early game. Ap kog is perfectly viable so why not varus? :)

junglerboy161 votesImo, he's perfectly fine as is. Build him for burst and he is phenomenal, so don't waste your time on a Runnan's hurricane, that is a noob trap for AP Varus players. get a Lich bane instead every time, since it offers immense burst as the game goes on.
If you struggle with early game, here's a big tip: Max Q first. I know it sounds weird, but having high damage poke in the early lane phase is actually really impactful, and since you deal so much magic damage from your blight stacks because it is all percent based, they usually can't itemize against you effectively. You'll want to get Luden's first for some really insane poke damage on Q (at least, insane enough to catch people off guard), then rush Nashor's>Athene's>Lich bane>Rabadon's, finishing off with boots. Later on, you can trade your athene's for a void staff since your pattern changes from being about spell spam to AP DPS and only needing spells to proc your W.
Martynxas1 votesBut there is a thing ur forced to build nashor first as ur main damage comes from applying ur pasive so u need to get ur autos off. And for stacks to deal damage ur forced to level it first and it needs ton of ap to deal good dmg.

There is 0 reason to play hes barely barely viable and insanely risky to play. And i dont believe he can become too dominant because amount of counter play he has.

i didn't say he was viable, and he is not meant to be an AP champion so Riot has 0 reason to buff him in that department. He is a thing and that's about it and that's how it will always be

So ap ezreal and ap kog were meant to ap champs? Ap varus can work so why not help him a little bit, and thats pretty stubborn opinion to say thats he's meant to ad and nothing more, its not like he need major rebalance or something and increases diversity its a win win situation.

Ez has always been a hybrid and AP Kog and AD kog offer different things. AP Varus offers nothing that AD Varus doesn't. AP Varus is a thing it's also a pretty stubborn thing to want something to be buffed when it offers nothing new or nothing of value. AP Varus is like AP MF it's a thing that you can do if you want for fun but don't expect Riot to buff it directly since all they are meant to be are things that people found about and nothing else
Martynxas1 votesWell ap and ad varus actually works quite diffrently, ad counterpart is pretty much poke champ while ap is burst champ. Why wouldnt u want it to be buffed? Its not like it requires some intensive testing just mixing a number a little bit. For example there was thread asking to increase size of veigars ult and riot responded and agree to make a change yet it offers nothing new or value, its about gameplay and i think it would be a nice adition to varus. If it wont be done then it won, nothing wrong for asking :)
