Can we make Zilean's Passive visible to his teammates?

I thoroughly enjoy playing Zilean in his current and past forms, but one of my current pet peeves with him is how his passive is handled.

Don't get me wrong, I find Zilean's passive enjoyable and effective in its current form, what I don't like is how I have to either: chase an ally for 30 seconds, ping rapidly at them, or stop to type to them, in order to get them to stop so that I can give them a level, this could be alleviated by simply putting a little buff on every allied player (call in "Timeless Wisdom" or something like that) that when hovered over indicates how close you are to Zilean being able to level you up. Additional effects could be making the golden rings that Zilean can see visible to all allied players or, in order to not put to much info on the screen at once, simply have the little buff icon slowly turn golden.

P.S. The detection on activating the passive could use some work, to many times I have had to sit there and spam right click to get it to activate.

P.P.S Can we stop it with the automatic 'e' usage? For those who don't know if an ally is out of range and you accidentally or intentionally right click on them while the passive is off cooldown it will automatically selfcast your 'e' putting it on cooldown, often at inconvenient times, in order to speed you up to get to the ally faster.

I'd rather not have allies see the gold rings, because then people will know that I can level them up, I just choose not to

Then people need to realize that just because you CAN use an ability doesn't mean it's the best time to. It's equal to ganking, just because someone wants it doesn't mean they get it.

But playing as Zil can be frustrating trying to chase down a teammate to give them a level. But now couldn't we just ping the ability? It wouldn't give quite the same effect but it would help for now.

I want to get assists more than anything with it. i cant tell you how many times in aram ive made a ziggs lvl 6 early and instantly he gets a double by bombing them, but what does zilean get for giving him his ultimate ability? well. a cool down. congrats.

Well I mean you do get the experience that you gave him to level him, but I see what you mean since you did assist in a more indirect way

Ive had alot of times where ive wanted to know how close someone was to leveling up since the cooldown was only about 20 more seconds when they were level 10 since its just better to aim for 6-11-16 when using your passive on allies. but they have no idea less they take the time to move their mouse over that tiny bar next to your player icon and see. i agree that it could use some quality of life adjustments to let the teammates better interact with it at beneficial moments

What i do as any supports when im not really needed but need an assist is use an ability thats not needed on the ally. For example that ziggs if u e'd him after the level up even though he didnt need to move you would have got the assist. I always shield/speed/heal my allies when they send out an arrow or a rocket or whatever to get assists

His new passive is a actually so buggy...

  • the majority of the time I have to spam click for it to work
  • yet I have had instances where I spam ult on Somone and instead he starts channeling passive. -_-
  • I lot of times the channel starts but it immediately cancels because of the click spam -the channel is fairly long that a lot of times the adc will just level up with last hitting a couple of cs by the time I finish the channel -sometimes the passive goes on cd even if you don't give the xp.

What I would is I would put a board of the allied champions portraits on top of zileans inventory ( much like kindreds passive works) and have the player click the glowing portrait to start the Channel instead of the campions model. Also maybe reduce the channel time a bit ?

That could be super handy, or maybe by clicking on a portrait a little animation or something indicates to the selected ally that you want to level them, that way you can easily and quickly communicate to your allies who it is that you want to level up

Are these like recent things? Cus during my time maining Zilean I never really had an issue with any of these except the passive cancelling click spamming but I think it's more of an intentional thing just in case the enemy engages and the channel is so long

I generally hate Zilean's passive even though I mained him at one point.

Zilean main here. Not a good one. Just one.

What I would really like to show how much exp. I would give before hand. I hate giving the bare minimum when i have 200+xp bottled.

Back to your lil request.(I think it should just be able to smart cast it, that way they can see with out your allies being hassled) (or if they have you on thier team, and teh enemy team has Vi, gnar, vayne and Ekko. Could be hard to see them.

The way his passive works is soo annoying. You have to take great care to not give 25 exp every two minutes. They should just let it donate excess exp. Why the heck not???? Put an exp storage cap of about 500 or something if you must. But please, can it actually give meaningful exp when I try to use it?

Currently my strategy is to save a larger chunk of like 400 and camp my ally farming. It's more trouble than it should be. Shouldn't need comms to make his passive actually work.

How about you make it like a buff, where there's the wheel that increases the closer you get to being leveled up by zilean. Also I would make it only to people within an AoE of you. Larger than your range, but not so large that you're trying to level someone bot lane and top sees how close they are.

Not just that, but if you click too fast you might activate your passive then cancel it; screwing yourself out of a passive usage. I never understood why Zilean needs to stand there and channel like a Malz ult in the first place, just let me click my ally and then they gain a level. You don't really need a fancy animation for that.
