How is the matchmaking system working? Bronze getting matches with high plat atleast every 2nd game

So can someone tell me how the matchmaking system works. I am atm bronze 4 so not the best player in the world. I am trying to improve by playing normal games but every 2nd game or so I get against a high plat in my lane that just crushes me everygame which kinda is annoying when I am trying to learn. Also the team matchmaking is so off as well. Last game I had I was against a Plat V, Gold II, Gold V, Silver II and Silver IV, while my team was me (Bronze 4), and rest in low Silver. That is not really fair tbh. So can someone tell me why I am getting matched with higher elo players?

Normals mmr is separate from ranked mmr, so lots of high ranked players who never play normals have low mmrs there.

Normals matchmaking is pretty wide, it's not uncommon to be matched with and against high elo players.

If u r facing a plat/diamond, its either the games u played against win/lose rate is similar to them. I got a diamond fd who only play ranked games after reaching lv30. He only played like 150-200 normal games and hes playing eith bronze v or unranked (sometimes not even lvl 30) so its notmal that u were against a plat so to speak. In another way, think of it as to improve ur skills as u will feel even more aweful to play against a "bronze" with feeding and shit (not saying plat/ high elo players dont feed but becomes less of a concern with more mature group of players) tbh, id rather facing all plat in normal games rather than playing with 9 other bronze in ranked game. Its just overwhelming
